You can check with Paul at Munich Sports in Pelham 620-6007. He can help you out, he has worked quite a few mini's and if he can't help you then I know other members of our group go to Stephen's garage and have been extremely happy with the work he does.

WOW nobody told me we had a Mini mechanic in Pelham where I happen to live. That's good to know. I got a quote on brake pad replacement from SpeedSouth in Pelham & WOWSA I decided they were too rich for my blood

Well I asked SportSouth how much to switch me to Hawk ceramic pads & the guy said $750 I was like ummmm daaam OK, thank you & hung up. He called back later & left a message for me to call him. I can only assume he made a mistake in his quote but I never called back so I dunno what the price would have been

It may be worth calling them back and double check the quote and then call Munich 620-6007 and see how much they want.

As has been mentioned before, Stephens Garage downtown is a good place to have your service work done. Stephen replaced the brake pads (4) and front rotors plus new sensors on my 2003 MINI, and an oil change, and it seems that it was less than $600. I will try to find my canceled check to be sure. You can always call and check. His number is 326-4542.

I had somewhat of a one ball mod but I didn't like it. I had a after market exhaust put on my mini that was builded at a exhaust shop but it was just to loud. And when I mean loud ,people could hear me coming a least a mile away. I now have the Alta exhaust that looks like the one ball. Love the alta!!!

Well I guess me talking about brakes jinxed myself My brake light came on Friday I am getting 4 new pads, 4 rotors, & sensors installed at Munich Sport. I ordered Hawk HPS pads from Detroit Tuned & Munich Sport stocks Brembo rotors & sensors. I figure parts will run me around $475 & frankly I didn't have it in me to ask about the labor charge. I guess I will let it be an unwelcome surprise

I would like to go to Stephen but it is just too hard for me to get all the way downtown for auto work. Munich is close & the guy works on European Autos including many Minis. When I pulled up he had approx 10 BMW's parked around the shop & is going to try to squeeze me in because he looks pretty busy. He said he works on Minis because he likes them I am just hoping to have brakes for the ride this Sunday

I should be there after lunch unless he is too busy to let me come in. If I get bumped off his schedule you don't wanna be the Mini in front of me on the ride Sunday in case I need to use your rear bumper to slow down

Well I'll count my blessings that he's moved to just around the block from where I work; Now I'm nearly 2/3rds through my covered service and all.

What is a one-ball mod, again? Not that it would matter on a Cooper.

contact orthomini. He might actually have one in the garage he'd be willing to give up.

He had it for a while I believe. It sounded terrible if I recall.

As good as some of our local mechanics are, this is a job for an exhaust shop, not a mechanic. Just get it up on the lift and show them where you want it hacked, removed, and welded.
