Oh no, it has slowed down

I thought the MOTD posting here would be going crazy right now with it being so close and some people most likely already packing their cars. But it seems very quiet here, is it possible that everyone is worn out?

Or maybe just have real jobs which does not allow them to play online too much?

Work is what is effecting my time. I have so much to get done before we leave. Plus preparing for MINI Monte Carlo Night, oh, and taking 3 kids to the Dragon with us!

My to-do list is daunting!!

Herbert, unlike you, most of us attending MOTD have to pack and travel pretty long distances. We're packing!

I'm flying, and I won't get to pack until next week, so I'm not quite all stoked up about it yet. I'm starting to get excited though. And I REALLY need a vacation.

It did seem there was more chatter last year around this time. I do think there are more people leaving early this time. I know about 1/3 of our group are leaving a day or two before the main caravan.

I am organizing this weekend even though I am not leaving until really freakin' early Thursday morning. Since I am camping out this year, I have more to pack. I am trying to figure out what are the bare essentials...

Anyone know of a good way to secure things in the back? I think the seats will have to go down this year and I don't want to have everything floppin around on 28. I thought about getting a big cargo net but the only place I could think of hooking it was in the boot...any ideas?

Ditto, especially about needing the vacation. I am going to start laying out things this weekend in the spare room for packing. Trying to keep the luggage to two pieces total for the wife and I.

Been too busy dragonfying the car. I had to move the steering wheel to the roof to make room for the beer for the brewswap. I tried putting the seats up there, but then I couldn't reach the pedals

Put heavy stuff ontop of the folded seats with softer stuff on the outside, certain small stuff packs nicely behind the driver and passenger seat. Another good space for smaller stuff is in the bottom of the trunk (the space just below the top of your folded seats) Plus some small stuff can be folded into the seats.

Bunches & bunches of bungee cords. And, of course, duct tape!

I still have to pack my suitcases and get a few last minute items. I did the road music today and loaded up extra CD carriers. I'll also have a book on CD.

Cleaned out the car yesterday and packed a box full of cabin necessities. A large pile is starting to grow on my dining room table.

My master packer will pack the car this coming Sat. morning and I'll be on my way.

This is basically the same system I've used every year since 2003! Also, I toss a quilt or blanket over everything, tuck it in all the way around, to keep the load from shifting, and to keep everything from rattling, clinking, and making annoying little sounds. Works great!
