Hoping to meet and put alot of usernames to faces.

ya know, we didn't do the Midnight run last year, partly because we were staying all the way back in Robbinsville and I had just had knee surgery. I hope we get to do that this year!!

I'm in the same neighborhood too, just up the hill from Koolmini's crossroads cabin I'll be there a few days early too, maybe Tues. or even Mon. Its awesome getting there early
Well I made my reservation at the Blue Water Mountain Lodge. I tried to stay at Fountana but they only had Thursday available.
Looking forward to my first Dragon run.
Jeff, your gonna love that place, they have a great common room with a two story fireplace and a pool table. Last year, all the rooms were Mini owners and each night, after the NAM events, we'd gather around the pool table and drank and exchanged stories. Plus Maury the owner is like the best cook ever
The hubby and I are MOTD virgins too! We've got our room at the Fontana and we're having a hard time waiting for May!!!:impatient Can't wait. We'll be driving down from New Hampshire the weekend before. ROAD TRIP!
It would be cool to have NAM reviews of all of the places to stay nothing negative just basic information on all of the different options and locations.

Since it's the first weekend in May, plan for about anything...warm, sunny days with cool nights, or rainy days and yuckier nights. I always bring rain gear and sweatshirts or fleece, just in case. Besides, if you go on the Cherohala Skyway, you'll need a jacket or a sweatshirt, as it's pretty cool up there. When the weather is nice, however, it can get warm in a hurry. I guess the bottom line is to plan for almost anything, short of snow and ice.
I have a chart in the Graham County Section of my website with the monthly average temperatures. For May the average high is 75 degrees and the average low is 51 degrees

That's a great idea Jeff. If anyone wants to email or PM a review of a place that they have stayed, I'll be more the happy to post it on my site
First timer here. Will definitely hit the cigar salon. Also in M2C2 and TarHeel MINI clubs. Don't drink beer any more but may check it out--tipsy people are funny--I know, I was the king of drinking comedy!
Want to get involved in the all the action, so I'm thinking I'll just bring a sleeping bag and some cash, as a 45 year old Virgo, non-drinker, "MOTD Virgin", somebody will rent me a 2'x6' chunk of their floor, right?
Worst case, I've already done the rear seat delete, and I'll just pretend I'm back in my drinking days and curl up in the car...at least I won't be waking up covered in dew!
Fontana Update, I am 12th on the list (of about 25). She did say that some of the people canceling were actaully transffering their reservation to other people. So needless to say the list is not moving too quickly.
Cabin was booked the day we left. I wouldn't miss it!
I just called to confirm my reservation that we made the day we checked out last year and I was told that it was a miracle that the room was still showing in our name since we should have paid the deposit within 10 days after booking it. I told the lady we talked to the manager who never once mentioned that she needed the deposit so soon. We could have paid last year had she said something about it. Also, I had booked two rooms but only one was held, so if you made any type of reservation last year, be sure you call to confirm as soon as possible. I was lucky that at least one room was still held and I was able to pay the deposit over the phone.
