We here at DCMM are excited about MOTD4, and hope you are too. I am working hard on the registration list, trying to clean up a few details, etc. This year we are producing a registration badge for every registered attendee. We are trying to include MINIUSA Motoring IDs on each badge, if you have one for your MINI.

Motoring ID....do you have yours yet?

...please let me know what your MINI's Motoring ID is, either by replying here or PMing me, and I will be sure to include the information on the registration list. If you don't have a Motoring ID, you can obtain one by signing up at the Owner's Lounge at MINIUSA's site. The URL is https://ol.miniusa.com. If you haven't been there before (and created a login), please be aware that you must supply your MINI's VIN number to gain access.

For those who don't know, the Motoring ID is an officially sponsored program that makes it very easy to contact fellow MINI motorists that you may see on your travels. The basic concept is that you register for the ID in the Owner's Lounge, and then you place your ID on the boot of your MINI using vinyl lettering. If a fellow MINI owner sees you and wants to contact you, they can use the Owner's Lounge to send a message to your Motoring ID. When they do this, the message is sent to your email. A few important notes with the Motoring ID system:

1. Your real email address remains confidential at all times.
2. Once you have a Motoring ID, you do not have to sign in to Owner's Lounge in order to receive messages, only to send them.
3. Since the Owner's Lounge requires a MINI's VIN number to sign up, only actual MINI owners have access to the system. You won't be getting hate mail from other drivers (unless they are also MINI owners!)

If you choose not to obtain and supply a Motoring ID, that's fine. We'll just leave that field blank on the registration list and the MOTD4 badges.

I don't know if this is a stupid question but are you saying that it's required to submit this ID thing or our VIN or we will not get our registration or be allowed to participate in MOTD?

 

Absolutely not, this is NOT a requirement... just an encouraged suggestion. If you don't want a Motoring ID, don't get one... the field will just be blank. We're enthusiastic about it but we're not ridiculously short-sighted!

 

Mine's in my sig, but not on my MINI. Prolly also listed in the thread mentioned. I am proactive like Clo.
