On site in car camera video review?
Anyone interested in a on site review of our in car videos? Could get together and compare systems, mounts etc. I can bring a small ( mini
) video projector that we could screen short pieces of peoples videos ( or digital stills ) with.
Edit: Shall we call it "Screening Dragon Dailies"? Dailies is the term for movie crews each night viewing the footage they've shot that day.
I won't go into details of planned mounts and cameras here, that's best left for the Camera and Video forum I'd guess.
We could also coordinate some buddy system drives. Have two of us with video do the Dragon together so we each get video of our OWN car from one another...

Great!
We can firm this up when we get closer. I expect my video setup to have front and rear facing cameras mounted above the roll bar hoops, so I can shoot back at a following car. If nobody else has that perhaps another convertible owner without a video set up will be willing to drive with my systems transplanted to their car, so I'd get video of me from in front and they'd get a copy of stuff from their car they wouldn't have otherwise...
Should we start a thread over in camera and video about new Dragon camera rigs? I know there are threads on mounts and such already, but might be fun for some of us doing new setups specifically for the Dragon... We might get some good ideas from one another.

I have 2 bullet camera's with mic's and mounts and switch box, I have done a couple things at last years dragon. Stuck one cam on the side of the door and one on the front window, front and back window's but the most fun was the one I clamped to the front bumper just off the road and with a mini in front it made a fun video.

Matt...
EDIT: Turns out te LAN-C jack on this camera doesn't work when recording from the A/V input...
Matt, you can borrow mine for a run if you want.
All, FYI if you're camera shopping, I just got a Sony DCR-H32. It's a MINI
DV format. Has the analog inputs for external camera, (tested tonight, works) and a LAN C jack. Some of the newer Sony's that replace this one haven't got the inputs... I.E. the DCR-H36 that seems to have replaced it at $400.00. Some sites say it has the inputs but I downloaded the manual and I don't think it does.
This H32 model is being phased out. Disappeared from Circuit City and Best Buy in last few weeks. But found it at B&H photo who've I'd dealt with before for even less, $319.95 If you want a digital with the inputs and LAN C this looks like a heck of a deal to me. www.bhphotovideo.com
Just got a firewire cable tonight (not included) and pulled the video to my PC, edited a bit, and burned a DVD. Looks pretty darn good. I'll have to compare playing the tape straight from the unit to the TV, vs the edited content to DVD and played on the same TV to see how it compares, but looks pretty good so far.
