Heck, just spotted this thread. Being in Atlanta it is easy to make it up to the Dragon, even if it's only for the day. Count me in for one day at least, unless there is a conflicting AutoX....

Just saw this, there's a good chance that I'll be at UNC during this time, in which case it shouldn't be too hard for me to get over there for a couple of days. Unfortunately, I won't know until I get up there in May.

But for anyone on this thread going to MOTD, I'll definitely be there as well!

 

So... This thread hasn't been active in awhile. What is the dedicated website to the Dragon? I'd like to get a l00k-see and start to plan out my trip.

Okay, so scratch that last post... Looks like I'm heading to University of Washington instead of UNC. But like I said, I'll definitely be at MOTD (for a few extra days as well) if anyone's looking for company their own age.

Okay, so you got a good point there. I don't have enough time with the new MINI yet to know if I like it MORE or just the same as the my mostest favorite car ever.

I've become highly doubtful for this event as I will be starting classes about two weeks before. (I get a full six weeks for summer vacation; hooray welcome to the real world).

 

So when is this event?????

BULLETIN: According to NC DOT road work on US 129 from Fugitive Dam to the NC/TN State Line will begin on Monday June 26. This will consist of widening the road and then repaving of the roadway. Please use caution during that time.

For those that consider the dragon to begin at the Crossroads of time, it only amounts to about a mile of the dragon before you hit the smooth pavement on the Tennessee side. . .

Not a reason at all to cancel a trip, IMO

The North Carolina section of the dragon is really quite miserable due to its broken bumpy road surface. This will be a good thing in the end.

This area is awesome and not nearly as crowded as the Dragon or BRP. The section between Shady Valley and Mountain City rival Deals Gap, (IMO) but lodging isn't as convenient. EXPLORE!!!

 

I would say that I would come to this, but I made the decision (last time TFQON visited) to make reservations to attend MOTD 2007. I decided that I have to tell me 2nd symester profs exactly where they can shove it because I have an important ____INSERT IMPORTANT THING HERE____ to attend.

Maybe if this event was this fall.......

Well I'm definately out this year, but I hope its big enough for future years cause I think this would be a great time. Neal checkout SSM they've got a group going in the fall (end Octoberish?).

Thanks for the construction update, looks like the MINIs will be safe for the time being.
