1st Annual Beer Swap?

The additional step of brewing Budweiser with rice provides the balance necessary to create its trademark refreshing taste, “drinkability” and crispness. While “extra,” this step is critical to the unique taste of Budweiser.

I've never been a big fan of Bud, but you sure are Lois. Perhaps a new career in an ad agency is in your future.

Any objections to capping it at 50? Total # of people will end up between 50 & 100 if we cap at 50.

But I wouldn't mind cuts of top gear, "american beer" & strange brew
As you know I have been trying to get promotional items or prizes for people to make this thing a little more fun. I've alreasy secured a Whalen and am hoping a few beer companies come through on their word.
In the meantime I was approached by a sponsor who is thinking about having some pint glasses made for the event to hand out. So a couple questions for you.
A. Would you want a pint glass?
B. Would you like the brew swap logo on it along with the sponsor's logo?
C. Should the sponsor just have a bunch to give out as prizes or should they have enough for all who BRING beer?
A response to this post will be appreciated but if you have already emailed me you do NOT need to post here.

I'd like to make another suggestion.
NAM is selling the Event Buttons. This button will have your user name, your real first name, the state your from and a picture of a MINI resembling yours(or an actual pic). These are $5 a piece but would be invaluable at the Brew Swap. We wouldn't have to keep asking each other who we are we could just read the buttons.
Not a requirement but definitely recommended.

just keeping it simple
Oh, and if they'll be given away then the brew swap logo should be accompanied by the sponsor logo. Of course I'd be willing to buy a couple with just the brew swap logo, sans any sponsor stuff if that's an option.

Well, yes, real pint glasses would be great, but how many of us are really bringing real pints with us to the event? Anyway, if they were inexpensive, I'd also be willing to pay a little for a glass with the beer swap logo on it. Should we also bring like dixie cups or something for tasting before swapping kinds of things?
Picky, picky, picky.
I'm teasing. "Real" pint glasses are nice but may be more expensive than the now standard pint glass you see in most places. If the sponsor buys these to give out to us I really don't see the need to nitpick about whether or not they're real pint glasses. If, however, these were to be sold I would understand the desire for a "real" pint glass.
Thanks for the input. As soon as the details are worked out I'll let ya know.

I want a Real Beer Mug

But this one will do .... "note the rim near the top" It's purpose is to prevent a slightly to very inebriated person,
from letting letting the glass from slipping out your hand......... I'll take two (one for wach hand)

1 English pint = to 16 US OZ and 16.65 UK OZ
So "your pint of 19,21 US OZ = 1.154 UK Pints
But with the a True English Beer/Ale they have a much higher alc %. for the retail sales the Micro Brews will knock you on the floor. There is one Pub that brew's there own Scrumpy (non carbonated apple cider),in Somerset.. The "Old Bill" told them that they can only sell 1/2 a pint (UK) per customer each night... As it is so blooming strong that I promise you, you will not be walking if you had a pint of it.... Been there done that....
But a pint is a pint right unless its a yard
Rhonda and I can't wait to see you guys again...
Scott,
We can't wait to see you too.
This is what I always thought, 1 Imp Pint is 20 Imp fl oz.
From Wikipedia:
The pint is a unit of volume or capacity. It is in use mainly in the U.S., the UK and Ireland, although the value is not the same and the U.S. has two types of pint:
1 Imperial pint (UK) = 20 UK fluid ounces ? 568 mL (0.56826125 litres
1 pint (U.S., wet) = 16 U.S. fluid ounces = 2 U.S. cups ? 473 mL (0.473176473 litres exactly)
As part of the metrication process, the pint in the UK is now only used as a measure for beer (see pint glass) and cider when sold by the glass (in public houses for instance) and milk (although milk is also sold in metric quantities). Many recipes published in the UK still provide ingredient quantities in imperial and metric, where the pint is often used as a unit for larger liquid quantites. Most new recipes are now published in metric only with the pint being rounded to 500 mL. Ireland has completed its metrication process and currently the pint is only used in informal speech and for beer.
So 568ml converted to US ounces is 19.20636489465 fl oz.
Steve (now really confused
)

Free pint glasses (whatever pint size the sponsors choose) would be sweet! I'd also be willing to pay for a glass because you can never have too many costomized beer glasses. If said purchased glass was a pint no problem (again any size pint as long as they hold at least 16.9 US fl oz/500 mL), although to me the best size is the German Litre. Now THEY know how to do beer recepticles
!
