Hi Guys
Sorry new to the forum having bought an R55 clubman. I've been searching but not found an answer yet so thought i'd post.

I am looking to figure out whether i can code the car to allow me open the sunroof completely on keyfob press rather than just tilt up/down. Can anyone point me to the right adaptation area in expert mode to do this?

thanks

See the GEN 2 FORUM.
You'll need to do Esys coding.

Hi all – new here

So, I have a late '21 F54 JCW, owned from new. (in Australia BTW). I believe the car was supplied without TMPS sensors in the wheels – I'm not sure if this was a AU territory thing (i.e like Canada) or if it was just specific to my car at the build time (was built during Covid and the semi-conductor shortages...almost had a scare during build when I was informed it may not come with barn-door foot sensor or HK Audio, but in the end it did and was all full spec..!).....It seems to just have the RPA pressure system activated (have 4 green lines on screen, but no pressure values etc) and the current tyres (OEM supplied Bridgestone) have rubber valve stems, which to me points to a lack of TMPS sensors (certainly not OEM) at the wheels. I don't have a TMPS Tool to check for sensors unfortunately.
All a bit strange, as I was under the impression that all F-series MINIs came with TMPS.

I'm planning to imminently change all four tyres and wondered about getting TMPS sensors fitted whilst at it, then hopefully activating active TMPS, if indeed it is onboard.

I came across this thread whilst researching and noted mention of 'Display Tyre Pressure & Temperature': 3001 RDC_Safety = aktiv
Would this alone make the active TMPS system work? Or is this just in regards to 'display' ?
I came across another thread elsewhere on the TMPS subject and there was mention of confirming the RDC module was in place (though I thought that was the key fob and would be for all cars?) and then coding via ESYS, all seemed lots of steps that were a bit above me to be honest..!

Is there anyway to confirm exactly the tyre pressure system situation is with my F54 and just what is possible to be activated re TMPS....using Bimmercode ?

To make matters worse, I currently have a FL puncture and so cannot drive the car and do any calibration routines on the RPA etc...and in a dilemma re changing all the tyres and fitting TMPS sensors..!

Really appreciate any thoughts/help..!

I think Bimmercode can't FDL code DSC, maybe you can use BimmerUtility to FDL code "2VB Tyre pressure display"
or ues esys to code, add 2VB in FA and then code BDC DSC KOMBI HU.

So, I have experience in neither of these...! I've used Bimmercode a little and years back used Carly on my parents BMW 2series, but it's all been pretty simple stuff....

Would BimmerUtilty be simpler to use? Looks it from the brief look I've just had...esys looks somewhat convoluted, besides I don't have PC, am Mac based...
I had come across the '2VB and BDC DSC KOMBI HU' reference with regards to esys, but to be honest I wouldn't know where to start..!

What I'd really like to confirm, is that this IS possible to do, one way or the other – i.e to activate TMPS, if indeed my F54 JCW is currently RPA only..? If that's the case, I'll go ahead and get sensors....

Is there any really simple walk thoughts out there how to do all this..?! Or even somebody that could do remotely for me..?! (I see BimmerUtility has this function?)...I'm actually a network installer and OK with computers etc, but advanced car coding is not really me, it seems..!

Thanks again,

This is DSC cafd type "CAFD_0000297A_182_171_004.ncd", maybe you can write a mail to ask BimmerUtility.

in DSC you need to FDL code this

C_Funktion_Reifenpannenerkennung_Aktiv_e: RDC [02]

You're loosing me..! 😳

Yes, I've just written to BimmerUtility actually...Hopefully they're responsive. (Stephan at Bimmercode got straight back to me earlier today and said he didn't think was possible to do with Bimmercode)

Happy to get BimmerUtility IF it can do it (I know esys can it seems, but don't really want to go there)....but just need to know exactly what/how to do..!

Thanks again for the pointers!

If you have run into an 8041C3 trouble code after doing lamp coding, and have been unable to clear it, this writeup/post may be of interest to you. Hope it is useful.

Or put in simpler terms, an output light can be used for more than one thing. A great example would be your turn signals -- they can be used as turn signals or as hazard/warning indicators. Same bulb, two separate functions pointing at them, but doing so is not an inherent conflict.

Also, the MAPPING_TAGFAHRL parameter sets are kind of... unique. Again, tagfahrlicht (which TAGFAHRL is a shortened form of) literally translates to "daytime running light." Daytime running lights are a secondary use of other primary lights in the system. To do that there is a whole separate stack of associated code. Very complex handling. And consequently, daytime running lights are not and can never can be a one-to-one analogue to something as singular as "left rear turn signal" or "left fog light." For the full reason why you need an actual BMW coder or or equivalent expertise tier to explain.

One other thing: be careful with casual interpretation of what you see in BimmerCode's Demo Mode. BimmerCode is used for multiple BMW vehicles, not just MINIs. All BMW vehicles do not have the same computer modules, and even when they have the same computer modules, the coding for each vehicle year/model/options/etc combination can vary. Yes, much of it is shared, but it is not "100% the same everywhere." The parameter you asked about -- "MAPPING_TAGFAHRL_V_R_OUTPUT" -- is a great example. It does indeed exist on certain BMWs, but it doesn't exist on the F56 at all (despite its appearance in BimmerCode's Demo Mode).

Hope this helps.
Hello CJV2, finally it's done. The front fog lights are programmed. I would have liked to have done it with the Bimmercode app, but the guy who was supposed to do it never returned my call. After two months, I gave up. I found a guy who works with “e sys” and it was a success. He went to the passenger side, inside the vehicle, on the right side of the floor, and modified the connections, and everything turned on.I couldn't thank you sooner. Time flies. Thank you very much for your valuable help, and I'm keeping all your information because my wife now wants a Mini Cooper convertible. Next year. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
