sadly the 2020 navigation headunit does not do video. :( tried tons of expert options too but no luck at all.. may try to look into again but just seems like it doesn't support video at all just playing mp4s as audio. sad face

Great post! Just read through 300+ responses and found that I am not alone with some issues. I am hoping that there might be an update in the 3-5 blink option? One of the main reasons I got the Bimmercode app was for that. I was able to code the fogs as brakes without issues. I tried the unlock doors when the car shuts off and that did not seem to take. Disappointing as every time I get out of the car, I forget to unlock the passenger side to get my back pack out.

One big question though. Did anyone ever have an issue with rain sensing wipers after coding anything? My auto wipers have stopped sensing. I tried everything. I know how to activate and cycle through on the stalk. Nothing is working. Wanted to pull the fuse and see if that did anything. I read the wipers had to be "reset" after a windshield replacement. Could some coding have affected this and cause them to need to be "reset"? Any help would be great. Raining a lot recently but not enough to have the wipers on all the time. One of my favorite features.

btw.. am now looking at other options to see if i need FSC unlock,etc. contacting several BMW coding places to see what they think. we do have the X1 headunit in our 2020 F60 JCWs (from what i'm gathering)

 

Same here. I have it set to active, and while it unlocks the front doors, it does not unlock the rear seat doors. I ALWAYS yank the handle, then have to hit the unlock from the front door (too lazy to dig out the fob.) Was wondering if I need to go into expert for that or some such.
Anyone have luck unlocking all four doors on engine off?

I just purchased a 2016 F54 automatic and I've been able to program a bunch of different things onto the car (tach/gear in HUD, remember last drive setting, seat belt warnings, radio warning screen, etc), but I haven't been able to find a way to install the Sport transmission/launch control. I don't have (or plan on installing) paddle shifters, but I would like the ability to use launch control and have a little more aggressive shifting in S mode. Thanks for any info!

 

You will need E-sys to edit the FA.

 

Weird, it works fine for my 2019 F57. (Also works for my 2018 BMW X2, which obviously shares a platform with MINI).

Hey guys! Today I have received OBD2 adapter and tried BimmerCode app. All seems good but I found some settings and looking for more info on that:

 

Anyone know how to access and turn on comfort access? I swapped my door handles and found it was prewired for comfort access. I want to see if I can get it working.

Yes, that's what I mean. I've tried it with Bimmercode's expert mode but I don't know where to go to turn it on. Is it body domain controller? then what 4 digit code?

This is to have the rear sidelights on when the car is running - DRLs just have the front lights on as standard but with this you can have the rears on all the time as well (same as when you turn the light switch on)

So it just turns on taillights pretty much all the time? The confusing part was inner and outer.

 

Robby71 called it: Toggle them to on- and the rear lights will be on when the car is running. your battery wouldn't last long if they were on all the time when its not running. be a bit lame eh and you would have to have a battery charger in your pocket all the time. your pants would look phat. not in a good way

Experiment with the inner and outer sections and ID what you prefer.

When i added the union flag lights the inner/outer correspond to the differing sections of the flag motif. experiment and clock what you like personally. Pics are always good so share what you find and pass the info to others

 

Let me know what you had to do to get this working. I have comfort access and can start the car without putting the key in but the doors will not lock/unlock when pressing the buttons on the handles.

 

Back when I first got Bimmercode, and I was exploring the app, I stumbled upon this feature. However, I can't seem to find it again. Possibly, I was hallucinating. Possibly, I was looking at the wrong vehicle.

I remember seeing a feature that when you had the front windshield wiper 'on', and shifted into reverse, it would automatically turn the rear wiper 'on'.

Anyone else know about this?

 

Does anybody know the coding parameters for the side indicators (the turn signals in the A-panel)?

I recently installed a set of LED indicators that were not supposed to require any additional resistors or anything but they're occasionally hyperflashing on me. I'm curious if there's a bulb type setting I could change or turn off any hot/cold monitoring for them. No bulb errors other than the occasional hyperflash, which typically occurs the first few times I use either turn signal after starting the car. Curiously, the hazards always blink at normal speed.

If I can't resolve via coding, I'm going to have to look into returning these as this is a PITA to live with.
