Phone Mount Solutions for 2025 Countryman?

We have found that MINI's wireless implementations of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay aren't all that great. It's not just the frequent disconnects that are problematic, using Waze via CarPlay and Android Auto leaves alot to be desired. So, we are looking for an alternative way to mount a wireless charging phone holder to the MINI. None of the traditional air-vent mount solutions will work given the configuration of the MINI air vents. And suction cup mounts are probably no good given the cloth-like material on the dash.

Has anyone found a solution to this yet?

Have you tried it yet? I have a new 2024 and my Bluetooth connection while my iPhone 15 is mounted in the charging cradle in the center-console works perfectly.

Yes. 2025 is totally different vehicle and this has nothing to do with Bluetooth. Wireless AA and CarPlay use WiFi to connect to the car and it drops frequently. I've already reported to MINI but this unfortunately is not uncommon with wireless versions of these platforms.

The vent design renders vent mounted phone holders useless, the fins are too narrow and deep . And the cloth dash takes suction cup solutions out of contention.

Neither CravenSpeed nor ProClip have designed new products for the U25 yet. I've reached out to both.

Ordered a bunch of holders from Amazon hoping I can find one that works somehow.

Then there's always the stand-by cup holders that have been around for ....... too long and the always-dependable USB-C cord and laying the phone in the cup holder without mount.

Cupholder mount is my solution of very last resort.

For the 2025, it might just be a little bit early. I would keep an eye on ProClip website, or get in touch with them, to see what they come up with. I have the ProClip in my 2012, and I feel its the best option.

Agreed. I have already reached out to them, no response yet. Just ordered ProClip for a Porsche Macan which I am looking forward to installing.

Do you own one?

Already had the Lisen from my old Countryman and was trying to figure out the best place to mount it and this is where it is for now.

Is the Lisen staying well-adhered to that surface? I assume that your mount is not a wireless charger, just a magnet? Looks like a good position, though I think I would prefer on the other side. May order one of these in the wireless version to give it a shot. Mostly concerned about how reliable the mount is adhered to that surface.

So far, yes -- that's a relatively smooth surface, so far it's sticking just fine and I have more 3M tape. They have a wireless charging version up to 15W but it wasn't around when I got mine a few years back. Mounted on the outside, I was worrying about my leg hitting it so that's why I put it inside, not sure if you have the same concern for your passengers.

That's good news that it has adhered well. I meant I think I would mount it on the inside right wall, rather than the inside left wall as you have done. Now I need to convince my wife to ditch her case in favor of a MagSafe variety.

If it’s an iPhone from any of the last few years it’ll have MagSafe already and if it’s an Android, hopefully it’s adopted the Qi2 extension of MagSafe? Otherwise, yeah gotta case those phones up and it’ll make the magnets stronger for the mount anyway.

Right, she has a current iPhone but when you add a case, you need a MagSafe one for it to work. I've already adopted MagSafe for my Samsung S24U which was a little more complicated but as not all cases are created equal when it comes to compatibility with fast wireless charging.

Not sure why but Lisen's newest charging variant of this mount includes a 12V plug adapter with USB-A + USB-C sockets for $29.99 but a 26% off coupon that knocks it down to $22.19? Got one myself at that price! :D

Back of display

Have you tried to mount it on the back side of the display so the phone would be mounted to the left of the display at the dash level?

Has anyone found a solution to this yet?[/QUOTE]
