We're long time mini lovers. Had 2015 chilli red justa that we traded today on this gem. A 2023 JCW Iconic, lounge leather seats, every option except the power lift gate. 8690 miles, the wife's new toy. Buying from a Porsche dealer was a nice bonus as the experience was much nicer than at any mini dealer I've been in.
With all the hubub about the new 301hp engine I was quite excited to see how it compared to my modified R59 in the acceleration department. R59 auto is 42mm turbo, Wagner comp ic downpipe, RPM custom tune, 230/275 at the wheels a very conservative tune and not even a single CEL in 75k miles. F60 is not bad, seems probably a touch faster to 60, and a touch slower after 60, but does it with a lot less drama thanks to all4. Overall just a much less hectic environment than my R59 or the now gone F56.
Adaptive cruise managed the 70 mile drive home ranging from open highway to stop and go traffic without incident and much more relaxing for me. Couldn't be happier to find Spicy, the new JCW. First mod on the docket is deactivating ASD and finding some nice rims to mount conti dws 06+ and ditch the garbage RTFs.
Any suggestions on good gloss black rims, light, and 18x8 et 40ish that clear the JCW calipers?
Spicy has settled in nicely and may become my daily, Mrs. Claviger has expressed a desire for a '25 SE hardtop when they make it to the US, which would shift the F60 to me.
I guess that bumps the Roadster to "toy" status...meaning ...it might be time for a monster build in the near future....manual + LSD + big turbo.
