Where to Mount EZ Pass (and Store Sunglasses)?

After six long months of waiting—BMW had to re-make our car since it was recalled soon after it was shipped to us—we finally have our 2021 MINI Cooper Countryman SE safe at home in her garage. Now come the tiny little details that I hadn't considered and I'd love some advice:

1) We will need an EZ Pass to be mounted on our windshield inside the car; near us we use the "EZ Pass Flex", which allows us to travel on HOV lanes free so long as we have the requisite number of passengers, but the EZ Pass needs to be toggled on/off in order to ensure we're communicating the right information to the toll authorities. As you probably know, the Countryman rearview mirror is mounted so that there's a very solid obstruction in the middle of the windshield, making it impossible to mount the EZ Pass so it visually disappears behind the rearview mirror (as I have in my other cars). So I think I have two choices: (a) mount it to the left of the rear view mirror, in the portion of the windshield with black dots, or (b) mount it just underneath the rearview mirror's "stem", which seems really, really low to me. What have others done? What's the right solution?

2) My other cars have a "pop down" tray in the roof which holds the driver's sunglasses. No such place in our new MINI. Where do you store your sunglasses in your car?

Oh, BTW, here's a photo of our new girl at her new home. Note the Level 2 charger we've had ready for her since the summer.... so glad to have our MINI at last!

Congrats! Nice color.
Your drivers seat should have a small flip out tray hidden under the front thigh bolster. That is a good place to put sunglasses if they fit.
I believe the passenger side also has this? I can't remember.

REALLY?!? I cannot for the life of me find this flip out tray. I've found the lever that you pull in order to adjust the thigh bolster, but nothing obvious in that location.

Yeah looks like it's only on the drivers side.
Unless they don't include that anymore. Mine is a 2017.

The picture made this clear: No, our 2021 doesn't have this. Bummer.

My R53 has a recess in the inside of the glove compartment lid.

In our state when purchasing a EZ Pass, we have the choice of; one which can be mounted behind front bumper or one which mounts to the windshield.

Definitely nothing in the glove box; thanks, anyway, MVPeters.
As for the bumper-mount EZ Pass, that wouldn't help us; we have to be able to switch the EZ Pass from "on" to "off" while driving, since HOV restrictions determine whether or not we get tolled (or not).

Odd, in lieu of having separate receiver for HOV lane entrance they make the drivers flip a switch on the module transmitter ? LOL !

No, Eurothrasher, you misunderstand: Here anyone can use the HOT lanes (note they're now called "High Occopancy TOLL" lanes rather than "High Occupancy VEHICLE" lanes). But if you have a car with a single driver, obviously not qualifying for toll relief, you pay through the nose. That's why some people call them "Lexus Lanes." In other words, if there's heavy traffic but you don't have a carpool, you can pay your way out of the problem. But if you do have a carpool and you don't want to pay the toll, you flip the switch to tell the system that you shouldn't be paying the toll. This is backed up with cameras that search cars for violators so that singletons can't claim they had 2 or 3 riders (depending on the occupancy requirement).
