My 2012 Countryman SAll4 suddenly stopped one day while my dad was driving it. I tested for spark and compression, and it has both. I used a foxwell scanner to check for fuel pressure and noticed that although the low fuel pressure stays constant, the high fuel pressure drops after a couple of seconds. The car is requesting the right amount of pressure and it gets it for a second, but after a couple of cranks, the high fuel pressure drops down and you can hear that the engine isn't even trying to start. I tried a couple different things and ended up replacing the high pressure fuel pump as well as the injectors, but none of that solved it. I still can get it running. Please help.

Hello,
Good video here to test pump.
Also here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...p-problem.html
Only thing i can think of is the low pressure pump starting to go bad? Or check the wires at the pump and the fuel rail, they might be damaged or the fuel rail pressure sensor? Check the codes also.

If the low pressure pump is failing, it can starve the high pressure pump, and lose pressure. Also if the in-tank fuel filter is clogged or aging, the fuel supply can be choked, and cause the high pressure to drop.
The scanner says that the lpfp is working well, but I will look into it a little more and check the filter. Thanks

What brand did you use? It matters. According to some sources, Chinese HPFP's can fail right out of the box or fall short of spec, leaving you right back to where you were.Originally Posted by Hafenorion
I've already replaced the HPFP and the injectors, but that sadly did not fix the problem.
