new to the minis, dumb question

Hi all
I just purchased a 2015 Mini Countryman S all4 and loving it so far

I had a couple of questions if anyone could help or point me in the right direction.
I am wondering how do I change the tire, is there a tool kit of some sort? I can't seem to locate it anywhere, I'm guessing there is no spare tire but shouldn't there be a tool kit?

Also does anyone know where I can buy the caps for the tow circles like the image below? mine are missing

thanks

realoem.com put in your car info and look for body. You will not likely be able to get it already painted.

Tire tool kit aka jack and lug wrench should be in boot of the car under the floorboard

The jack and lug wrench originally came in a zippered bag that clips to the eyes in the boot under the load floor. It's possible the previous owner kept it.

Edit: actually I think this was only true for 2011-2013ish. Mini stopped including it after a few years.

Also IIRC, the tow hook should be velcroed under the front passenger seat.

So the weird thing is the floor doesn't lift up in the boot, is that normal?

Got a picture? I thought the Countryman had a boot floor panel...

RealOEM.com is going to be your best friend when it comes to finding OEM part numbers.

The R60 Countryman definitely came with a panel that flips opens in the boot (2 panels if you got the flat load floor option). I'll see if I can find a picture.

This is the panel that every R60 came with from the factory. It folds at about 20% from the end and can be locked in an upright position behind the seats.

There was also an option called flat load floor that added a second panel underneath that one. It folds in half across the middle. You can see both panels in this picture.

Also here's a pic with no panels. The jack and tire iron are in the little bag in the boot, though again I think they stopped including it around 2013.

My '16 CM JCW came with run-flats and I don't see anything related to a jack or zippered kit in the back. I did end up getting a Daytona Low Profile jack from Harbor Freight along with a pinch weld adapter and it works fantastic on the Mini. Also ditched the run-flats.

I second the advice to ditch the run-flats. After the second blowout on the Pirellis (try finding a 225/40R19 in a small town!) I switched to Firehawk Indy 500s and they've never been a problem, as well as making for a much nicer ride.

My 2013 came without a jack/wrench kit. I carry a patch kit and compressor with my own lug wrench and a jack salvaged from a previous Ford Focus. Works fine though I haven't had to use it yet beyond checking that it worked. I have it tucked into the small compartment under the hatch floor. You might want to throw in a can of FixAFlat if you aren't cool with putting in a plug.

If you check the local scrapyards, you may be able to find the tow-ring covers in the right colour. Take the other one with you for comparison...you might find other MINIs had the same size cover.
Barring that, the dealer will charge you an exorbitant price, but they will definitely be able to find you that part.

I have a 2015, it did not come with jack or tools and also does not have the panel in the rear compartment, so apparently it was not standard. Mine came with runflats which I hated and replaced. I purchased a Mini Countryman toolkit off eBay…wasn’t cheap and not too common.
I would like to have the rear panel and did see somewhere where someone added one…would likely be costly from a dealer…but not a wrecker?
I carry a compressor, patch kit and tire goo….and on long trips I pack a spare on roof rack.

My 2013 came with an electric pump and some sealant. The kit is located under the driver's seat.

Thanks for all the replies
Looks like the previous owner also ditched the run flats, new tires only have a couple thousand miles on them. I will be on the lookout for a spare tire and tool kit

There are 5-6 Countryman tool kits on eBay currently. Issue with full size spare is it won’t fit flat in the trunk. If you search this site some have gone to a collapsible spare…but requires an adapter as wheel/tire that is correct diameter is Mercedes bolt pattern.
