I just replaced my front and rear pads and rotors on my 2014 Countryman. I was able to reset the front brake service interval, so now it shows 37000 until the next service. However, I can't get the rear to reset. I held down the BC button while it showed "RESET," then the clock showed with the hands spinning, and then it shows the image below. It's still stuck on 370. I've tried it several times. Is there a trick to this?
So upon further research, I am suspecting it might be the pad wear sensor. I didn't replace either of them, since neither had been worn down (and I didn't feel like peeling back the wheel well liner to get to the connection). However, I found this:
Brake pad wear sensor testing - MINI Cooper R56, R55, R57
MINI R56, R55, R57 models utilize a 2 stage break pad wear sensor. The sensor is used along with sensor data to determine brake pad life and remaining time until service. If sensor is partially worn and reinstalled after brake service, service indicator reset is not obtainable.
Does anyone know if the R60 uses a similar two-stage pad wear sensor? If so, maybe my rear sensor has in fact sustained enough wear to trigger the first stage, which is preventing the reset of the service interval. I do have a new sensor; I'll just need to get back in there to swap it out.

No replies, so I figured I would just swap out the sensor and see what happened. That fixed it. With the new sensor, I was able to reset the service interval for the rear brakes back to 37000 miles. So if anyone else has this issue, the brake pad wear sensor seems to be more than just "replace pads now." Here are pics of the old and new. You can see the old has some wear, but it's not worn to the point that the circuit was broken. Yet somehow the sensor detects wear and alerts you to get ready to change the pads.
If I recall correctly, there is an option in one of the menu’s of my Schwaben scan tool that there is a function to reset not just the interval, but the wear sensor itself as well. I’ll look later today to be sure... but I will need brakes soon, and would appreciate a link or something to those indicators, if you have one.
Got a source / link to the wear sensor you purchased? I'm just going thru that same issue...
Sorry for the year-late reply -- just saw that you had posted here. The sensor came with the brake service kit I bought from ECS, so I assume they sell them separately.
