Wheel/tire advice

Hi all. I'm close to pulling the trigger on a CM but wanted to get advice on wheels/tires to make it look more rugged. Planning on an all black version. I assumed that 19's were the way to go but the salesman told me that makes the ride less smooth. Do "fatter" tires exist for this model? Anybody have pics or experience. Thanks.

Welcome aboard. You will get lots of answers from MINIacs but here are some nice pics for you. Yes there are many wheel and tire combos. Fatter and taller tires do exist for them

Did you know there is a dedicated countryman wheel and tire section? Have a look there.

IMO Asking for which wheel / tire / shock / brakes to get is like asking what kind of dog to get. I could tell you to get a lab but if you really want a chihuahua you're going to think my advice sucks.

Ditch the run flats for non run flats. I did when mine was brand new. The stiff walls of the runflats cause the rough ride and they don't handle nearly as well as non run flats. I sold my brand new run flats. I am running Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus and love this tire.

You said "more rugged", does this mean more Offroad looking? If so I'd go. With the smallest wheel you can. Ours came with the 17s and we. Put 16" wheels and snow tires on it, and I think the 16s look better... The snow tires are. Also about. An inch. Bigger in diameter which looks even better.

i did the same, 16" mini oem euro alloys and 205/70R16 winter studless ice and snow tires, 27.3" OD, stock size 225/45R18 are 25.9" OD

i tried 205/75R16s but they rubbed (edit, i have the sport suspension, 1cm lower than stock, the 205/75s probably would have fit with the stock suspension)

for summer, i will be going to 225/50R18 michelin pilot super sports, 26.9" OD

I recommend the 17" standard wheels with the Sport Suspension option.
