Headlamps

Has anyone changed out the lamps in their countryman that came with the standard, non-xenon lamps. The standard ones seem so dim and I want something brighter.

More realistically, here are a couple of threads that may help.

I did a xenon retrofit on my Countryman. It is neither cheap nor plug-n-play

but if youre handy you can do the swap relatively easily. The only problem is sourcing the actual headlight housings.

You could look into possibly some brighter bulbs for the car, i wouldnt recommend putting an HID kit in though.

Ill never understand why people cheap out on the most important option - Xenons.

I cheeped out cause they were £500+ which is a rip off. I've got Phillips 100% brighter bulbs and they do fine. Would have preferred the Dual Zeon's but im not made of money. I skipped the satnav option also cause I was not paying £1200 for a satnav. Call me cheep, call me savvy

Breaks & tyres are most important option

Its not a rip off when the most important thing at night is being able to see. I mean i am not going to argue with you, but if i was buying it brand new.. i would add that option since it would cost a few dollars per month in the end for something that is more than worth its weight in gold.

Also resale is much easier on a xenon car.

My .02, as long as you are happy people can do as they please. Stock brakes are perfect and the stock tires suck.

My 2011 had standard lights, but when i got the 2012 I got rid of sunroof and got the hid. Its expensive but worth it.
