Thoughts on treatment for Mini Mouse Removal
So I just got my 2012 Countryman All4 and love it. I think my only peeve with it is Mickey, er, MINI Mouse in the dash.
I've seen others remove the whole trim piece, and try all sorts of colors...all black, red, even yellow (yikes).
However, I was thinking of maybe integrating the center tach more with the color scheme of the center console, and allowing the vents all to match. I'm thinking this will help in removing our famous mouse friend.
Here's what I'm thinking.

That might work. From what I had seen the most effective way was to paint the ears to blend in with the dash.
I look forward to seeing how yours turns out. It would be great to have another option.

Your picture makes the ears stick out even more. I'm not sure what the answer is. I have the gunmetal color trim so I painted mine to match that. Maybe all piano black is the best you can do about it
I have done mine several times now. I tried plastidip red on the speedo trim and vents. Decided that was too bright, and decided to go with high gloss black. I am thrilled with it because it lessens the Mickey look while also adding more dimension to an otherwise pretty flat interior.
The route I am going is to order the pieces from the 2013 model and replace mine. They are all black now and will match perfect.

Not sure yet but waiting on the advisor to get the information for me because I also going to get the new smoked side marker lens as well.
Have a newer countryman as a loaner with the black trim rings on speedo and vents. It is not an exact match with the other black plastic, a near miss. Was planning on swapping out but now think maybe stay with the gray.
Mini-b10, Did you ever check with parts….in regards to swapping out the grey trim for the newer 2013 black trim. When I picked up my Nav. upgrade earlier in the week, parts manager did not think they would be compatible…They sure look as they could be…...
wow that shot now makes me see TWO Mickey Mouse heads
That's what I'm looking for…just checked those parts are available in the older grey/silver look. New black ones have a seperate part # but not showing availiable ..probably to new. I'm thinking of ordering a set of the older color and painting it to my liking.
The photo doesn't give you the in seat(s) view. It really looked good (to me) and the OEM Mickey look very much less of a Mickey due to the black paint.
Cheers

Definitely let us know if you find a source for the '13 parts- everywhere I'm looking shows them as unavailable, and my dash if begging for this swap.
The other and more important reason for for stopping by was to check in with parts as my JCW gauges had arrived a few days ago.... But really wasn't sure if I liked the white face tach. surrounded by the black face gauges (more of the Mickey Mouse look). Pulled the trigger and ordered the JCW black face tach.
Ships from Germany in 3-4 days. By the way...... My parts manager was able to order the black trim as seen in the newer 2013 models. Not listing a ship date as of yet, but he confirmed it is available. Hoping to see those soon and do away with the ugly grey trim finally
I actually was at the dealership yesterday as they had a little celebration for there first Paceman. I finally drove a JCW 2013 countryman all4s and had the exact look as the picture shown. Was ordered as is from the dealership. Awesome look and even better drive as far as clutch (no issues what so ever). I even thought the feel of the brakes were more sensitive, could of been to the newness. My installed JCW exhaust did roar a bit more than the JCW's, again probably needs some mileage.

I think we should be good to go.
Thanks, Flyer. If that's what the look involves, I'm all in. Sewell's site describes the parts as "anthracite" which I believe is MINI's term for a matte black/very dark grey color, as opposed to "piano black" which is how they describe the glossy black parts.

grey has been described as anthracite, even though dictionary states "coal like color". Parts Mgr. ordered both the anthracite & piano black which i'm not a big fan of but would take it over the ugly grey trim
