It's not hard at all. Takes a little longer than the cup holders, but if you did that you can do this.

Thanks for the response. Are there any screws or does everything just pop off with a trim tool? I didn't see any screws on the parts diagram

Did you order the flat black or with the chrome trim? If you did the flat black can you post the exact part #'s and where you ordered from?

Thanks and good luck with the install. Looking forward to the pics.

51-45-9-810-000 Center
51-45-9-810-003 Left Vent
51-45-9-810-004 Right Vent

those are the numbers that got me my black trim pieces. i ordered through ECS tuning because the parts were in stock. Sewell also carries these parts.

make sure you use a magnetized bit to get that screw behind the glove box and a stubby driver or socket adapter to get the ones under the windshield.

I ordered the chrome which is 51459810001, 51459810005 and
51459810006. I also got the shifter ring(51169810002), which I didn't get when I did the cup holder upgrade.
The black should be 51459810000, 51459810003 and 51459810004.
I got them from MINI of St. Louis. They matched the Sewell prices or beat them and I didn't have to pay shipping this way. Should arrive by the end of the week.

I got this completed today. Sides fit perfect, but the mickey is significantly higher than the dash in the middle like others have reported. I have an '11, so I'm guessing that the dash has gone through many expansion and contraction cycles from the STL weather and since the new part hasn't it sticks up a bit. It still looks much better than the old silver, and i'm hoping that the gap shrinks over time.

Quick question. On the Sewell site the description for the part numbers you provided says they are "Piano Black" trim. Is that the flat black with the Piano Trim or are the entire pieces the shiny Piano Black?

Thanks

It's just a piano black ring around the vents and speedo face.

Great. They look good. MINI has a curious way of identifying their pieces so I appreciate all of the good info.
