latest project. what do you think?
Plastidipped some of my interior pieces today. I hate the dull grayish silver that comes from the factory. It didn't turn out perfect but I wanted to see how I would like the finished product in the car. If I decide to keep it I will respray them and most likey do the trim rings near the door. Thought? Comments? Ideas?

Ha ha. X2. It's a great idea, and looks good, but I too only see Mickey.
What about doing two separate colors for the air vents and then the ring around the speedo... To me it just looks so RED and it could be the picture as well but maybe you would want to consider breaking up that hugeness of red... Like I said it could just be the picture that is making it look like there is too much of it there.

That might be a good idea. Perhaps black/red plastidip in some combination..
It's fortunate that you can get PD to pretty well match your exterior color. You can add a glossifier too if you want to. I wish it came in Royal Grey. It's also great that you can just peel it off later if you want to.
Great idea, I was thinking about doing this to match my orange/red door panels. I agreed with others, need to finish the other two vents in red also. Once you add a gloss clear coat and do a few wet sanding the clear coat. It will have a nice gloss to make it look better i think
While you guys were busy laughing at the main interior piece of my car, I decided the red was too much. I have striped it off and now have redipped and applied high gloss black over the top. I think I am going to like it intend to do the outer pieces as well. They just require more work to remove. I'll be posting pics with the gloss trim later.
I think the Gloss Black will be better. The red draws too much attention to the thing I hate most of the interior(Mickey).
maybe even a red center & black outer's just to make some separation.

Just removed the outer trim pieces. You need to remove the a pillar trim, lower dash pieces andside vent covers to be able to remove the 4 torx screws that hold the pieces in. On top of that, the trim pieces, along with chrome trim ring is glued in. Now I have tape everything off to paint the grey parts. Glad I waited on these parts cause they were a pain in the ***.
I am much happier with he way the high gloss black turned out. the outer trim pieces were a real pain in the *** to tape off since nothing wanted to stick tot he texture of the dash material. It came out much better than I thought. I am so happy with the results that i decided tot do the three "post" pieces on my steering wheel. They are drying now as I type this. Hear are a few more pics.

That looks good. So did you use black plasti-dip and then the glossifier? Or some paint over the plasti-dip? Also, where/how did you get the carbon fiber dash trim peices? The gloss black is nice!! I don't know why they chose gray for those three peices with no other gray in the whole interior.
I agree about the color of grey Minu choose to put in our cars. I don't have any carbon fiber in my interior. The lateral side pieces on my dash are from the factory. It includes checker pieces there and piano black everywhere else. It was the best way for me to get piano black trim without paying for it. Also, the method I used to paint the pieces were plastidip with paint sprayed over the top.
Cool thanks. I can see it now, but just glancing at the photos it looked like carbon fiber pattern. I like it. I think I am going to have a autobody shop spay my gray bits gloss black. Also thanks to you, I now have to figure out a way to modify my paddle shifters so I can retain them and put the JCW steering wheel on.

I'd rather not break anything!
