So I haven’t installed them yet, but my RF’s are down to the bone, and im looking at pulling the trigger on some 235/50 r17. I like to think of my baby as a tank. She’s definitely bulky will post pics once ready!
Took our 2015 CMS All4 “Heidi” on a road trip today to Gettysburg, PA for our anniversary! She has performed flawlessly....windy day here but pretty Spring day!
Bought these wheels from a fellow NAMer then had a set of Michelin Pilot Sport PS4s mounted. Put them on the car a week ago Saturday. The next day, I started a thermostat replacement. Got a little hung up with the water pipe clip and decided to remove the intake manifold. That delayed things for a few days while I waited for the manifold gaskets to arrive. Finished that up a few days ago. The point is that I had these great new tires on the car for 6 days before I was able to drive it! It was torture.
The tires transform the handling. They are extremely responsive. I drove on winter tires for the last 6 months so the difference is even more stark. Great upgrade.
I know how it goes....took off the runflats & stock 17” wheels on our 2015 Countryman S All4 & bought new silver turbo fan optional 18” wheels, and mounted Michelin Pilot Sport 225/45/18 A/S 3+ tires and it transformed the handling & ride!
@dmath I have those wheels on my Countryman too. I went a different route for tires, choosing long life (but still a high speed rating) with some non run-flat Pirelli P7 Cinturato 225/45/VR18s. This car is my commuter so I need long life tires that don't mind the occasional hooning LOL. I've had the Michelin Pilot Super Sports on my track beast, an Audi TT, and can attest to how awesome those were. You're in for a sweet ride. Congrats!
Behind on the wheels/tires and brakes but did head to the dragon today (I'm quasi local) to have Way hook me up with a Manic 2, smoked scuttle markers, and black xenon retrofits.
Also test fit my carbon fiber door handle covers (and they are amazing).
@I_Forge_KC Honestly, I'm almost thinking the 17s look better than the 18s on our cars. I have the turbofan 18s like @dmath Maybe a proportion thing? Your car looks very clean and it's the same colour as mine, though mine has a black roof. Sharp!
After a ton of issues with jack stands in the past, I opted to go for the QuickJack. Got it all assembled and pressure tested today. Wheels and brakes are a task for this weekend.
Installed my custom designed turbo. All upgraded the rod bolts to ARP to help strengthen the bottom end. Now running RPM Stage 3, used to run Manic Stage 3.
