Did an ATF drain and fill including dropping the pan, replacing filter and gasket. Went with Valvoline MaxLife for the fluid. The old fluid was original with 63745 miles (I bought the car used in April) and VERY dark. First I drained and refilled, then drove for a while. After letting it cool down to the correct temp range, I drained again, dropped the pan, etc.
The process wasn't too bad thanks to write-ups here on NAM (thanks to those who contributed). I'd kill for a dipstick so I could be sure that the fluid level is good. I followed the directions for filling and letting what is over the standpipe drain out but still verification would give extra peace of mind. The only real snag I hit was that one of the pan bolts snapped. I got lucky though -- there was a lot sticking out so I hit it with some WD40 and got it with vise-grips. And since I had to buy one new, I replaced them all (except the torx - the store didn't have one of those. Speaking of the torx bolt, on my car it's a T27. All of the write-ups I've seen indicate T25 but not on my car.
After the change, it seems to me that upshifts are better. It shifts well in general but the upshifts seem to come more quickly without that sense that it's trying to decide what to do. The real test will be tomorrow morning when I drive it cold for the first time.
Ended up going down on tires to 225/50/r17’s. sad to see the 235/55/r17’s but the rears kept rubbing at the top, even though I lifted it. If it wouldn’t have been for the for the rubbing, those tires were perfect for my city driving- shoot even fireroads would have been a breeze.... ohh well.

I'm not familiar with your setup, but I have the stock 225/45/18's (Michelin Sport All Season's mounted on silver 18" Turbo Fan Wheels) on our CMS All4 and I couldn't be happier.....smooth ride and grippy (way better than the stock 17" wheels with runflats).
Yeah, I changed the stock 18's with runflats to some konig 17X8 ET35, they are a lighter wheel and the bigger sidewall of the tires gives me a little more cushin' for the roads down here. Anything other than runflats really makes this thing nicer to drive. Also on BC coilovers with swift springs. Just installed the Gmaxx 22mm swaybar also, tride to order the 25mm and they don't make it any more (at least thats what I was told from M7 when I ordered it.

What size wheel were you running the 235s on (width/offset)? Where was it rubbing?
konig 17x8 r17 et35.I have BC coilovers with swift springs. Rear shocks raised about 1/2 inch and lifted with a spacer lift kit. The tire extended out of the rear fender and there is a metal sheet that forms a rim along the top of the fenders that was slicing away at the outer edge of the tires, literally.
It's going well. Still waiting to put the 50mm turbo on. Couple custom things I'd like to do... but I gotta wait for the money, aka build my company much bigger.

Thanks. I’ll be running 17x8 +47 BMW wheels with 225/55 tires as a winter setup. I’m more worried about rubbing on the inside versus the outside. Based on my test fit with 225/45 and some measuring I should be OK.

So today I installed an AFE cold air intake. I went with the oil less dry filter. Easy to install. No CELs and the turbo is more audible if your listening.
The other day I installed a phone holder. It is from 67 Designs www.67d.com. I previously had this in my jeep (which is their primary market) and decided to put it in the mini because it looks good and functions well.
I purchased a Moker bluetooth adapter. 80% of the time it works 99% of the time. Doesn't always reconnect automatically like advertised and it has a flashing blue led that is super bright. The USB port on the device doesn't power on without pushing the button in the middle, which seems unnecessary. But by doing that it changes the blue light to red which is more manageable.
Also installed the cravenspeed dipstick which showed me the oil was overfilled and probably the cause of the minor smoking issue once it gets warm.
That’s very cool!👍. New cars suffer from a total lack of instruments that tell the driver how things are under the hood. The dipstick needs to go back inside the engine compartment too! One reason I bought an R60 is because it has a dipstick! 😉
