Silent Turn Signal

Is there a switch or configuration setting for the Turn Signal and hazard warning flasher?
My 2 months old 2012 Countryman S all of a sudden decided not to give me any audio cue for turning signals and stuff. weird enough is that the snow or low fuel indication can still be heard, it is just affecting turn signal and hazard warning flasher. Like any other computer scientist would do, i restarted the car like i would do for Windows, but no avail. Didn't find any tachometer setting relates to this problem. Any ideas?

See the dealer is my guess. Seems kind of dumb but might be some sort of software issue.

I wish mine would stop working... I think the sound from the turn signals is too loud. If you find what's wrong please post it so that I can "fix" it myself.

I wish I could find out how to turn mine off. If anyone finds out if it can be done let me know.

service people called, apparently the forward flasher mechanism is not working correct, it will have to be replaced.

Mine just started the silent turn signal effect also. This car is developing more bugs than any car I've ever owned. I guess another trip to the dealer is in order.

update:

service people called, not the forward flashing mechanism, now they are saying it is the speaker or the device behind the tachometer. anyway, have to drive the loaner for a few more days.

Mark:
this is my second Mini in 5 years, last one is kind of temperamental in the first year, took 3 trips to fix some minor items. haven't developed any trouble since, that's why i am not so worried. i do dread the 1 hr drive to service every time, but still, the car is definitely better than a bland toyota.

OK, now it is getting weird.

The turn signals make sounds one day, and are silent the next. As soon as I call in for an appointment, they begin to work again.

Something is causing them to go silent, and return to normal, with no input from me.

mingjiansi, did they ever decide on a cause on yours?

Well, the silent flashers returned. The dealer ended up replacing the entire speedometer unit, since the speaker for the signals is in the unit. They also had to remove the radio, for some reason, and reprogram the vehicle. Odd that all this needed to be done just to get the turn signals to make a noise when active.

The good thing is everything works fine now. Additionally, I notice the car is a bit smoother on acceleration. Maybe there is something in the reprogram that addresses the low RPM power. The dealer did an excellent job getting this done, and actually called me to ask if I would need a loaner over the weekend, since the repair was taking longer than they expected. Great customer service...

The only thing I don't like is the new orientation of the trip odometer above the odometer. It's something I will have to get used to.

So you got a 2012 firmware update for your 2011 CM, and they moved the trip above the odometer? Weird. Smoother acceleration too? Is it a little better getting it moving in 1st? If so, I may need to get that update...need excuse or just wait for something to break to go to dealer. Anything else?

It feels like it pulls a bit sooner with throttle application. I'm not sure if it is simply changing the comupter's response to peddle location, or actually changing the engine profile. For whatever reason, I don't have to feather the clutch as much as before.
Not a major change, but noticable in my view.

The displays available in the tachometer changed. The other parts are a good description - I recommend getting the upgrade - it's a significant improvement.
