Wheel bolt torque

I want to rotate the tires and save $350 that the dealership charges for rotation and alignment. I read the owner's manual, it states the proper torque is over 100 lbft (140nm), very high if I compare to my old CR-V of around 30lbft or 2002 Mini Cooper. Is this correct of is a missprint?

100 lbs is right. They are 14mm bolts, not the little 12mm studs like the old crv.

FWIW, the alignment does include adding 400lb of sand bags to the car to pre-load the suspension and align it then...BMW does it too. Still pricey, but not your typical tire shop alignment.

I'm pretty sure the exact figure is 107 pounds. The lug nut wrench supplied in the tool kit is not capable of removing the bolts. I had to buy a 19mm socket, breaking bar and torque wrench that will get the job done. I keep these in the tool kit.

The 2012 R60 spec is also 103.3 ft/lb.

Sorry guys, I'm getting older. I *NOW* remeber the old CR-V torque is about 80lbft and the R50 Mini tire pressure is about 32 psi. Thank you for all the replies.

How often are you guys rotating your RF's? I just did mine at 5700Mi.

Was also a good opportunity to give the wheels a thorough cleaning while they were off.

So I just had the dealer rebalance the wheels to get rid of vibration. And the paperwork says they torqued the bolts to 80 foot pounds.

I am guessing that this is automatically inserted text that their system puts in, and I'm 99% certain that they do not actually torque the wheel bolts, but just pneumatic wrench them on like any tire shop. But it's really irritating to see that my vehicle is now officially out of spec from the dealer.

Alright, good excuse to buy a bigger torque wrench.
