Door Lock Horn Beep

Have a 2012 with connected. How in the world do I get the horn to beep when I lock the doors? Owners manual does not seem tom offer that option.

You don't.

You can clearly hear them lock when you press the key tho. Also I suggest going into the settings panel and turning on auto lock when all doors are closed. It takes like 10 mins so you won't accidentally lock yourself out. But its piece of mind when you park!

Not an option, without an aftermarket alarm anyways

It's nice when you get use to it, no more obnoxious sounds all the time.

That auto lock only works if none of the doors were opened.

I just got my 2012 with miniconnect and the factory alarm. I turned the beep off when locking...now just the lights flash. It is some where in the settings. I was playing with so many settings I cannot remember. I will try to find it and post it if I do...

IMO honking horns and beeping alarms during arm/disarm are soooo annoying. If my MINI had it, I would have disabled it ASAP!

Honking and flashing lights are configurable in the settings portion of the Connected menu.

If you can't find, I'll try to take pics the next time I'm at my car.

bentyyc: I didn't see the settings in my Connected software. Only the setting to change the auto-lock which I already did.

honking is only available if you ordered the Alarm option. Not many people did.

rfg - here is the pic I promised. As mojito mentioned, you do need the alarm. I think with the package options in Canada, I must have ordered one that included it.

Without the connected option, you access most/all of those features through the BC on the turn signal stalk. The menu comes up in the tach to change light settings, triple blink, door lock/unlock and TPMS reset.

I agree the 'beep' sound was horrendous. I turned it off and now just listed for the locks.

Now if I could only change or lower the sound of the turn indicator....THATs annoyinig.

Haha, I can always tell when my wife is in her car when I call her because I hear the turn signal in the background.

I think you can lower the sound in the stereo options somewhere...

edit: Nope! I thought lowering the "Gong" setting would lower the turn signal noise, but no dice. It just lowers the sound it makes when you start the car, leave a door open, headlights on, etc.

OK, here is my door lock problem: I have Mini Connected. I can lock all the doors at once with the button on the driver's door handle. That part is fine. I can't get the boot to open even when the car is unlocked unless I have the key close to the boot. How do I change that?

I think there's a setting that you can change so when you unlock the car (either with the key fob or by pressing the door handle button), all the doors unlock at once, instead of just the one door. Although I don't know if that applies to the boot...

Just wondering, will the non-connected CM have less access function than the connected one??

Yes, in settings you can! Either with fob or the button on the door handle. Even if you set it to 1 door only, if you press it a 2nd time will unlock all the others. If all doors are locked you can open the boot by manually pressing in the large Mini logo lock twice.
