Do you get the wave???

I have noticed that many times the classic or clubman drivers do not recognize my countryman as a MINI, and do not return the "wave"! This is so disappointing. in my 2006 cooper i enjoyed the wave, breaking the monotony on long drives, etc. Whats up with this. any other countryman owners have this experience???

If i have a beer open I'm less likely to wave.. :-)

I haven't had many waves but I still throw it out there.. Jeep wrangler drivers are another happy bunch that like to wave also. I drove them for years, I guess I'm just used to it.. Just keep waving maybe the rest will learn by example..

Norwegians don't wave, they are a miserable bunch. When I was on tour in my Clubman last year MINI owners in Sweden, Poland, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark and Latvia all waved, it was great, when I got back to Norway nadda, zip, nothing, I think it's says a lot about Norwegians.

I think most other MINI owners are in awe that they saw a Countryman and just forget to wave. They just don't realize what it is until it is too late.

Jealousy or prejudice? Maybe CMs are not MINI enough?

Living in Miami I expected to never get a wave, but I've been pleasantly surprised to get a lot of waves.

I wave all the time, see ~3-12 MINIs a day, and have only had 2 waves returned in the 6+ weeks I've owned my CM. :(

I'm in CT and I get lots and lots of waves. I'd say that 1/10 MINI drivers wave first, and 7/10 more of them will wave if I wave. I only get blown off (or a confused look) probably 2/10 times.
