Please confirm whihc oine your tried:

Snap-In adaptor music (6NF music only): P/N 84 21 2 199 390
Snap-In adaptor media (6NF music + video): P/N 84 21 2 199 392

I would have thought we need '392 to get all the functionality (at least with a 2012 and iPhone 4S), but 4GAZM was able to do all of this with the '390.

 

Mine was 199 390 Waiting for 199 392
But did you notice his was a whole different series

yea its a 4S, 64gig model, latest update on the phone. when i bought the unit and pluged in the phone i didnt get any cover art, then about a week later when the latest update happened the cover art worked just fine.

ill snap those as well.

another interesting note is if you take these part numbers above and try them they dont show R60 in any of them so i may think your parts people are giving you all the wrong parts! just a thought!

 

i am! its the only media holder that is compatable with the R60

the other part numbers abouve with (MEDIA) 199 in them are only BMW cars

like i said run the part numbers i gave you on

www.realoem.com and you will see the part number i showed you from my box is the only one that cross referenced to the R60

all the 199 show BMW only

 

Actually all the parts guys ever said is listed and working was the 390. I was the one that suggested the 392 that he has no info. on but I was able to order it off the mini motoring accessories site.

As I said a number of posts ago, I have a 84 21 2 218 390 and all apps work with it. Flyer, if you want to meet in Brewster, I can let you try mine. My car is a 6/11 build.

 

Hey flyer it was built late August.

All I can say is the part number that is my pic is the one you want as its the only part number that I can find that is supposed to support all R60's and it supports all my functions. It looks like all parts with the 199 xxx are not what you need. Have you tried the part number of the one I showed and it didn't work? If that's the case then theirs either a firmware issue or a warranty claim as your unit may not be installed right.

The iPhone 4s will work with the part # I listed as its what I use and also found that build dates have no issue on wheather it will work or not as all 2011 and 2012 show the same cradle with no build date variances.

 

Just to clear the air ... The only iPhone 4 or 4s cradle that works with the countryman R60
Is part # 84 21 2 218 390

Any cradle for "media" with 199 XXX will not be supported.

 

Ok with that said if true... Which at this point makes sense.
I'm not sure which 390 they gave me to try on Saturday... I'm thinking the 199-390
Which means the one ordered ending in 392 is probably also a 199.
Could be an issue with my firmware/hardware....I'll have to confirm when I get in the office tomorrow. Thanks 4GZAM

Just confirmed the cradle I did try out was 84 21 2 218 390
But again see below....
Which means the one on order is the 199 392 which will not work according to these posts.....

heck man! id march right into the dealer and tell them to fix it!

they have the part hook it up and say make it work, i exspect nothing less.

you paid for an option and you have to use it! their should be no excuss for it not to work, take the car their and say ill pick it up when it works!

who knows they could have screwed something up during the install at the factory.

and their could be a loose wire somewhere.

 

It was never the thought of not believing you... Just all the confusion of perhaps a 2nd or even 3rd one as well. But these posts along with the pictures will hopefully make a believer out the of the Parts Mgr. who and BMW state will not work in a mini. It just doesn't work in
my 12/10 build either by firmware/hardware issues. I did try a cradle back mid-summer that did everything other than cover art... No video not an issue, but cover art would of been nice, which means my hardware was/is working. Thanks again 4GAZM!

 

LOL ...I only laugh as I may hold off a bit as far as leaving it there. Last time I left it there for a high speed vibration issue. It was there over 2 weeks, the last night never made it there so I told them I'd pick it up on Friday, day after thanksgiving.. Well they left it out and sometime Wednesday night, Thursday (Thanksgiving) or that night it was broken into
Almost 5k of damage and items taken. Just got my countryman back last Wedsnesday.
There a great dealership...and for almost 2 weeks the vehicle was stored inside nightly...
except for that one night... Black Friday!!

 

Mine IS the 84 21 2 218 390. The other 2 I was given did nothing. (do not know the #s) This one will work as a phone but says "the device is not compatible" when attempting any other features. Also if you touch the phone screen at any moment you have to remove it from the cradle and replace it to get it recognized again.

An note as well, the entire nav unit would not accept the code upon delivery. It took a week and several attempts (by the dealer) to get the proper access code into the nav unit.

Guess we'll be dropping this thing off to get it righted.

 

So your using the 84 21 2 218 390 but only as a phone ? When I tested that one on Saturday it charged... But that was it.. Came up not compatible. But for 4GAZM is seems to work just fine. Interesting that you mentioned the issue with the code and the nav...

Did the dealer get you a Snap In Adapter that works yet? If yes, what is the Part Number?

 

Someone needs to organinze this thread into a spreadsheet. Maybe color code it with a break down by model, mfg, user, features, works/doesn't work. I tried to read back and had a brain spasm.

Sealy - who can't afford to loose many more of those cells.

 

Have heard nothing as of today…I'll send them an email inquiring about the where abouts.
