New owner / Newfound joy of driving
I have had my first MINI since 3/3. I went to the dealer to look at the new 07's and they actually had a MCS that was the right options and color. I drove out with an all Astro Black with black Lounge Leather with white piping with brushed aluminum trim and the MFSW with anthracite headliner. Other featuers are premium and sport packages, moon roof, Xenon headlights, boost stereo with 10 speakers and manual (of course). I got the 17" web spoke wheels as well.
I had test driven a couple of MINI's before but never came to buying one. This time I really enjoyed it especially with the color setup this one has. The dealer was going to use it for their Hammer & Coop display model but didn't know about it until I was signing the paperwork. The quality of the 07 is quite good and can't stop feeling and staring at the leather. The seats are so nice. All other parts of the car are quite nice.
I put 160 miles on the car in just the first 24 hours of owning it. The next weekend my wife wanted to go and get herself her own MINI. So she got a CR/W Cooper with the premium package and the same seats I have. She can't stop blasting through traffic. Her car is an auto but its quite nice with the 6 speed and being able to use the paddle shifters on the steering wheel is quite nice too. In sport it shifts like a manual with the pauses between gears (like BMW auto's do) but in non-sport it shifts smooth and in a more comfort mode and will hit 6th for that high speed cruising.
We really can't be happier with any other car except out MINI's. We have trouble figuring out who is going to drive when we go somewhere together.
So this is just a Hi from a new member of the MINI clan.

TrboKrt....congrats on both new MInis. I'm a transplanted SO CAL gal in Ohio with a BGR/bl 03 with custom gold stripes and cool wheels....gal's gotta look good. :-) Warn your wife about grumpy cops with no sense of fun or adventure. :-) I got 2 speeding tickets in mine 2 years ago. Ouch. You guys ought to drive one back to the Dragon in May....that is serious adventure. :-) We went last year and had SO much fun. Going again this year and to Mini Meet East in June. Motor safe on those SO CAL freeways.

I uploaded my morning after pics of my MINI to my gallery. I have since had 20% tint all around put on so these pics are without tint. Feel free to enjoy the all black pics. The interior options are very nice and actually not that dark for being all black.
