Pre-production anxiety... did I choose the right color?

I am not sure if I can still change the color of the MINI I've ordered, but over the past couple of days I can't help but wonder if I should change from DS/B to AB/B...

I'm feeling that the DS/B just doesn't have the same punch as the AB/B. My only reservation with black is that there are SO many black cars on the road... I don't want to look like everyone else. Silly, huh?

Any thoughts?

if you want dark and silver and not look like anyone, get royal grey, all royal grey. I am a fan of no black or other colour roofs. It is a bold thing to not do that. like pw/pw. hardly a soul does that. brg/brg, that's my colour

But, chromeline rox the party, I feel.

dark silver with black will look very nice though.

ab/b is kinda a waste of nitpicking. It's hard to see the fleck as it is, you dont need to go hide the car /reduce anxiety by making it flat black on top.

ab/ab is nicer I feel than ab/b but what you picked first is nicer than that in a more unique way.

Go with what you love!

For myself, I just traded in a black truck for a PW/B MINI. I got tired of black - it's been done to death, it's *HOT* (especially here in HOTlanta!) and it's a bugger to keep clean.

Don't worry about what other people want to see - go with the color that makes *you* smile!

just from my experience... i originally ordered a PureSilver/Black and then got freaked out by all the other Silver cars I was seeing (even though most were SUVs). At one point, I had a chance to switch before the production started, but waited too long. The result... I reordered and also upgraded to an S....

Find out what the production status is on your car from your MA... If it is in 111, you have a little time still. If it is in 112... it is very close to production (I ordered in 112 status on a Thursday and the car was in production on a Monday). It is still changeable in 112 status, but not for long. 150 status means it is in production and locked. I would say, if your's is in 150 status... stick with it.

By the way, I think DS/B is an awesome combo. I personally like the black roofs, although I'll probably pay for it on hot days. I saw a Dark Silver yesterday and began thinking.....

That's exactly what I ordered. I was thinking about SB at first, but thought the RG was more impressive when i saw the two in person.

okay...here it is

spoke with the dealer. it's too late to change -- and really i'm okay with that. i figure this is what was meant to be. i'm sure i'll love my MINI... Seven weeks is just a hell of a lot of time for my mind to wander and ponder over all the "what-ifs". I hate second guessing myself.

DS/B it is. I'm thinking black viper stripes, changing out the factory grill for black mesh and tint for the windows, side reflectors and tail lights.

I don't want to look "pimped-out". But I do want to have some edge. *silly grin* I already have my soundtrack lined up and the car won't be here for another month.

I think all of us have gone through what you are going through. My first choice was HB/W, but when I got to the dealership, I ordered CR/B. Within 24 hrs I had a panic attack in the middle of the night, got up in the morning and changed it to DS/B. Thank god I had time before production. I love DS. So, I love your color combo. My car should have docked yesterday. Over 7wks, I kept doubting my choices. But, I am happy with what I picked. If you really hate it, cancel your order, I just don't know if they are still producing 06's after this next wk. Good luck!

We in the Pepper White Peerage need to remember to be magnanimous about what colors other may choose - they only make the PW cars stand out from the crowd!

misty, I know you already resolved your internal color conflict by default, but I just wanted to mention for anyone else reading this thread for reference that AB/B is NOT a possibility. You can only get an AB with body colored, white or silver roof.

Also, I'm completely biased but I think you can see the metallic flecks in AB just fine - maybe not if it's covered in dust, but when the sun is shining it's a very unique color.

Black is a PAIN to keep looking good, but my BRG isn't much better, but at least the roof is silver.

DS/B...sweet! You got a nice color combo. In the end...it's a MINI. You won't have any regrets.

Unless you have a LOT of time to detail your car very carefully, you picked the correct color.
We pick up our AB MCS tmrw morning. I make time to detail nice cars.

I am glad you are okay with the DS/BLK. Choosing your Mini is such a personal decision and you really can't go by what other people want you to choose. No one I know really likes what I chose for my MCS. They told me to get HB or PW.

AB/W is hot.

Yes you can see the flecks, no the arent super visible unless it is sunny out. But with the white top you will see the flecks A LOT more as it will highlight them very well.

That's a cool look ab/w. I havent seen one yet.
