Ditto! I had full intentions of trying out my new PC this weekend, but it was too easy to stop after shampooing and get on the road. Aggie, I've been meaning to post that after using up the Turtle Wax QD Ice, I've switched to DP Hydro. It's really nice for putting on a wet-looking shine. It won't remove the swirls, but it's easy. Just shampoo, rinse, spritz on the Hydro and towel the Mini dry. So luscious and smells good too. I've got to wax with the PC one of these daze.

Motoritis is in full bloom out here. It was about 70 this weekend, and I kept remembering errands that needed to be taken care of. Don't know how that just seems to happen. Spring break this year will be motoring up coast highway to SF and back. Can't wait!

I never did find time this weekend to swirl x Basil - maybe if the weather is not as nice this weekend....

SISSY!! Thanks for sharing what you do....

I have never heard of DP Hydro...I assume it's one of those paradise products. I will find it and if it smells good too, all the better!

Homer...NOTHING in the world sounds cooler than motoring up the coast. I can't even imagine how neat that must be.

Happy motoring my lovely friends.

I can vouch for Hydro, too. It is one of my favorite products. I just used it with OctaneGuy's help in So Cal. Check out this thread for some pictures of a recently Hydro'd MINI:

Thank you OctaneGuy!!

OctaneGuy's pictures are a little better at showing the beautiful shine you get with Hydro.

DP's Clarity window cleaner is my second favorite product!

Aggie, I love the Clarity also. I use it not only on Flo but also all around the house. I've had problems with some plastic outgasing (ain't them words special) on the glass on my printer. Have been wiping off the haze, but watching it return within hours. So, I used Clarity on it. It's still clear after several days. Use it on my glasses too.

I'm already getting in line to purchase a bottle of Octane Guy's "trim stuff" as soon as he has some available.

Arg, all this talk of detailing is making me ! I just moved on post in Colorado Springs, and we can't wash our cars at our homes! O-well... It's not as bad as the two dings I've gotten in the last 3 weeks. Some drunk idiot threw a rock at my car (he had to go to court for that) and then when we were moving our stuff to the house, the u-haul grazed my passenger side rear quarter panel. Arg. Neither of which are bad, luckily! Probably about a grand of damage overall, need to get it estimated.
Other than that, we finally got a computer hooked up at our new place and I can get my full blown NAM addiction back on track. Living in a hotel with no pc for a month almost killed me, but at least I had my MINI. It's been an adventure.

Welcome back. I looked at your pictures in your Gallery. Ouch! That hurts. Hope you get things fixed good as new.

I will try to post some photos from the trip after we get back. I've been getting some good tips on where to eat and stay from the NorCal Mini Club! Thanks again to the nice folks up there!

Sissy and friends...thanks SO much for the suggestions to help alleviate Scarlett's swirls. The other cars on the playground don't make fun of her cause she's STILL the coolest car ever....but I want to be a good mother and ensure she looks fabulous at all times.

Homer...looking forward to your pics man!

Just returned from road trip - what a blast! I think the pictures are loaded in my gallery.... I have to find out how to verify that. Day 2 was awesome - top down, sun shining up coast highway from San Luis Obispo to Monterey!

The trip bumped me close to needing the first oil change!

page 8?

Wake up all you W37 motorists!

I'm wondering if I set the record for fastest replacement of the rag top? Mine is in the shop with just a little over 10k miles. I casually mentioned the white marks on the roof, and they ordered me a new top right away.

Hope you are all having a great time motoring!

reeeeeeaaaallly? Interesting. My top squeals like a Halloween scary noise when I put the top down and I have light white marks...wonder if they will change mine out too?

Maybe if I mention Production Week 37 that will get me somewhere! lol

Go topless or don't bother going...

They could advertise the free top with oil changes!

I hope they get rid of the squeal when they replace the fabric. I know that we are supposed to leave the top down all the time, but I do close it when I park (even in my garage - too many spiders in there....).

Has anyone tried calling the 1-888-Do Not Close hot line? I did, and laughed pretty hard.

My MA actually gave me the bumper sticker! I have it taped over my computer monitor at work.... The bad part about top replacement is I can't go top down for 2 or 3 days.

WOW!! You all must be out motoring! We slipped to page 19!!!!!!

I am posting to report that Scarlett...after almost a whole FREAKIN YEAR...has no more swirls! YIPPEE!! Hubby bought some Turtle Wax...fast wax (something like that?) in a big white bottle. I would have never used it but I thought...what do I have to lose?

Anyway...shines like NEW and no swirls. We will keep using it!!!

First oil change is this weekend.

Go topless or don't go at all.

Hi Aggie,
Congratulations on getting rid of the swirls. Black and red cars look fantastic freshly detailed, but they take a lot of work getting there. I waxed Flo last month too. She still looked good, but she needed a fresh coat of wax. I had her oil changed at 3500. Probably won't get to the 10,000-mile mark till late fall. These are great little cars. I've not had any problems. Pleasant surprise.

I will probably hit 10000 in the next two weeks. MITM will bring me really close if not there this weekend. Will I drive 700 miles while I'm at MITM??? Probably not, haha.
