Wondering just how long it does take....

I just read Jeff's post on tracking your mini and now realize that my production number is dependent upon the dealer and his sales etc... ?? Or at least the way I read it it is. They told me 6 - 8 weeks when I ordered it but from everything I'm reading I'm dreaming if I'm going to see it in less than 12 weeks. Not good, really need the car. But I will survive.

Order my MCS on July 14th.
Pepper White
Black Roof
Chome Lined interior and exterior
Beige leather
All Anthracite interior/dash/headliner etc.
Fancy Smancy sound system
Premium package and Sport Package and few other little add ons for the big bucks. lol

I've already name my car. See... the color, although I like it, it reminds me of the old traditional almond colored appliances of the 80s and 90s.... it's wide stance makes me think refrigerator. So it only stands to reason that my baby be named Perry.

As in William "the refrigerator" Perry
anyone get it? My kids didn't.... lol, I guess that means I'm getting old.

So to end my little introduction here... does anyone have any realistic time frame I can hope for or is this a hit and miss that is different for each and every one of us mini hopefuls.

There are many different factors that play in to how long it takes to get your MINI. Your location in the US, where you order from, how long it sits at the port, ect. ect. all can have an effect on the length of your wait.

For me, it took almost exactly 9 weeks.

No clue about the time frame. But Congrats on the new Mini. So I guess you only use you car in short yardage situations and feed it twice as much as everyone else

Snooter Gets It!

lol. good one snooter. You obviously "get it"
BUT.... my Perry will not be getting poor mileage and breaking down after quick bursts... nope, not my Perry

Besides, I'm not in Chicago, don't have to deal with the cold.
I'm in Houston.... wait... that means I have a loser team here... hmmmmm maybe I need to rethink this analogy/name business...

Hey, I'm in Houston too... My MINI started production July 24th, with an estimated completion date of August 15th... It's supposed to be here early to mid September, so we shall see.

I ordered it June 10th, but purposely had it delayed until end of July / early August production so I would get it early to mid September. So that would be about 8-9 weeks if it gets here on time...

pottermom, since you have a production number just call MINIUSA for an update. The folks on the phone have the most up-to-the-date info, at least up until your MINI gets on the boat. I may be fuzzy on the exact details, it occurred to me that, like childbirth, the details about production and delivery are foggy and all I can recall clearly is the moment they handed me the keys !
Great color choice and name, I love it.
Come check the link at the bottom of my sig, you are now one of us Mwa-ha-ha-ha!

I sincerely hope you never find out, but the name probably means you'd do just fine if you got into it head-on with an SUV...

So where did you go to order it?
Did you use a Houston dealer? Momentum or Woodlands? I am with Momentum simply because it's closer to me and the salesman... um MA?? (all this new terminology lol) worked well with me. Talked to me and not my husband. He paid attention in class.

I actually had one salesman (for another maker) ask me if I really wanted a manual and could I drive it. I smiled very sweetly and said, "before you were in diapers honey." I honestly was shocked he even made that statement. Shoot, I've been driving a manual since I was around age 7 growing up on the ranch... he probably had to take driving lessons to learn... lol
