Brand New to Mini Motoring!

As a brand new owner of a MCS (thanks to a BIG surprise from my husband last week!) I would just like to say how much I have enjoyed these forums for the past several days. Everyday I am calling the Mister at home to tell him some new trick or tip I've picked up here and it has enhanced the whole ownership experience of our new MINI more than I can say. We're so excited to be reading about everyone elses modifications and can't wait to get started on our own.

I hope to be showing pics and personality with the rest of you guys in here soon!

Andrea

Welcome to NAM, Andrea! Wow...what a nice surprise!!!

No kidding! Imagine going to a MINI Dealership to browse and them asking if you'd like to just take one home? Like this one that your husband already picked out and bought for you?

What a great moment.

Boy, did HE earn lots and lots of brownie points! Congratulations and have fun! Are there any mini clubs in your area? The dealership could probably help. We got a built-in social group when we got our 1st baby.

Belle, they signed us up for Bluegrass Minis ( We live outside of Louisville, Kentucky) and we can't wait to hook up with some people in our area. The Mister has done Deals Gap for years on his Ducati and hopefully we'll take the MINI along this year as well.

Welcome to NAM. Make certain to join your local MINI club. There are a few in Kentucky. Where did he get your MINI from? I don't think that there are any dealers in Kentucky.

We got the car at Dreyer & Reinbold in Indianapolis, about 180 miles from us. Finally is broken in after last weekend. New floormats should be here today and the graphics place has my artwork for the roof wrap. I can't wait!

Welcome Andrea!

Since your husband is familiar with the Dragon, be sure to check out the MINIs On The Dragon.

We're still waiting on pictures-especially when the roof is done!

Mishka, I can't wait until the roof is done either. One of my favorite things about the MINIs is seeing how people really combine them with other hobbies, interests (in my case OBSESSION!) that they have and it LOOKS GREAT! That aspect had a lot to do with me coveting one for a long time. I love looking at the threads on here that focus on personalization of the car. I love that even though people on the outside will think I'm a little crazy to spend the money for my particular graphic on the roof of my MINI, DB, people on here will understand!

Nice looking MINI(with a cool name)!

Yep, we will understand the OBSESSION, as it is highly contagious here in NAM. My wife laughs at me becuase she never thought she would see me obsessed with a car. Unfortunately, she is getting good at rolling her eyes when I start coming up with ideas for Gromit.

My ride before DB (my dad named it, by the way) was a 1994 Geo Prizm that I paid $4,000 for in 1996. It had 212,000 miles on it as of a couple of months ago and needless to say looked pretty rough. My husband hated that car so much and for the last couple of years, I'd just stopped cleaning it out or anything which drove him crazy.

He jokes now that he had to buy me a car that looks like a Disney character before I'd love it enough to keep it spotless.
