Here is a thought. How about obeying the Colorado Laws?

That will solve the problem

Does your state require a front license plate? Do you HATE the idea of drilling holes into your beloved MINI bumper? Do you want to avoid the ticket from the ever-friendly traffic officer? Here is the answer to your dilemma: Get this:

JGF,

I just received my No-Holes front plate kit from Go Mini. Actually I ordered it from MyMiniParts.com, but it is the same part. It is great. The look is a little more "mean" than the stock center placement. I love it.

When I installed it, I opted to not even screw with the height adjustment bracket. Too much work, I had beer to drink!!

One piece of advice I would like to share though. Once the install was complete, I noticed that left edge of the plate rubbed against the front splitter. To fix this I used a small piece of small foam that 3M sells, with adhesive on the back and front. Its kinda like double sided tape. Put that on the back of the plate where it was rubbing the splitter, and violá it was fixed.

Did you guys request from the dealer that they not install the front plate?

We just picked up our mini and the black frame was installed already on the front. Looks like it's screwed in too.

YES, Colorado requires a front plate. We live here too. <grin>

Not to get to off-subject but what happens when a out of state driver has no front plate? My state doesn't even issue, much less require, one.

I guess the officer zooms up to give you a ticket, then notices your rear (out of state) plate and doesn't bother stopping you.

Yup, every time I've gotten a car I make it very clear that I want the bumper to stay pristine.

Mine is in an abnormal (but legal) place; I get he spin around only to find nothing wrong at least daily.

Sorry, but IMO that offset plate and mount looks just plain R-tarded I'll just keep my plate where it is, deadcenter front. Not that big a deal actually. My plate looks great with the black UJ frame! JB

i'd rather have a front plate and not get pulled over for a ticket THAN thinking I look cooler without a front plate. Gotta stop caring how you look when your up against the state law...

My Mini Convertible came with a plastic frame for the front license, but i have no idea how to mount it. It has angled clips, but i cant find where on the front of the car they attach to. Do i need to put 2 screws through the front bumper?
I have been pulled over with a warning, and gotten a $15 parking ticket for no front plate. Buy I also avoided a ticket from a red light camera (I entered on yellow, really i did). So I think maybe I am better off without the front plate.

No Holes Front Plate

Purchased the no holes mount. The price seemed high at the time but the quality is worth it. All stainless steel or aluminum. Still waiting for Billy II plates before I mount it.

VA requires a front plate, but my hubby has not bothered to mount his. He keeps it in the car and when he parks he puts it on the front dash to avoid ticketing. He did get pulled over once, and apparently having it in the car satisified the officer that he "intended" to put it on and he got away with a warning.

I have never seen the no holes thing. We might think about getting this.
