I really like those LED light mods! I need to show those pics to my husband. He's been wanting to go all blue for a while now (no jokes from the peanut gallery please!). He IS going to change all his gauges to blue soon with the help of a friend with a lot of electronics knowledge.

Well, I have a cool spot of news to share with my fellow PW27ers...

Ever since taking delivery of Pi Rho on the 28th of July and going to a rally/meet the day after with my boyfriend, he's been debating whether to get one or not...

Finally, after going to his third MINI gathering with me, did he then give in to temptation and curiousity! He bought a 2005 DS/B MCS from the same dealer and MA that I had gotten my MINI through and the MINI (named Soffi) is in amazing shape. Long story short, it belonged to a woman in the Navy down in Texas, got transfered up to Massachusetts then sadly was transfered overseas, so she had to give her MINI up. It only had 8,400 miles on it when we test drove it!! It had as many miles as my 5 month old brand new MINI!

I feel quite happy to have another fanatic to add to the club, just wanted to share...

Here is a pic of our two MINIs:

Isn't it great to have a two-MINI family?

On another note, I sit before you absolutely astounded. I spoke to my dealership this morning and they have ordered a FOURTH transmission and a "different" clutch for Mary. I can't believe that MINI actually thinks this is a good idea!

Wow that just seems ridiculous! Are they thinking that this will be the automatic fix for Mary, just trying yet another clutch and transmission? Wow... I'm shocked.

Oh, I found somehting funny... They put me in an automatic Cooper. I laughed and asked if they did this because they thought I couldn't drive a stickshift since my car is in getting a new clutch. The SA just sorta laughed it off, but I'm sure that's what it is. Oh well...

When I dropped off Mary, I got a BRG MCc. Today, when I dropped off my husband's car (which is when I talked to service about an update on mine...since I hadn't heard a peep from the time I dropped her off Wed. till now), I got a PW MCSc. Now, we're debating which one to return first. The MCSc is PW....hmmmmmm. But no iPod hook-up like the BRG one. The one thing that sucks is while it's 75 degrees outside, it's raining every day.

Very bad news

Hello all,

I have something I need to share, especially with the MINI community. What better place to begin than with my PW27SG family.

This is so awful and I feel so stupid.

I was scammed on eBay for $4500. It was a listing for a classic Mini. I did absolutely everthing wrong. EVERYTHING. Mind you I have bought/sold many things on eBay. As you may remember, I am a "computer guy".

But, there is a reason they are called 'con artists'. They know exactly what to say, write, do to reel their victims in.

I will eventually post the whole story as I am going to have to tell it over and over. I want to tell it so this doesn't happen to others.

I don't expect it will happen in this group but I am concerned that some may 'rub my nose in it' by pointing out all that I did wrong. It is very painfully obvious what I did wrong. As I said, I did everything wrong and couldn't see the warning signs in my hype.

There are guidelines for this stuff on eBay. Particularly for purchasing vehicles. If you ever do this READ THEM and follow the advice to a T.

My only other advice right now is, whenever you get in an emotional purchase or someone plays on your emotions (for just about any reason), take time...MAKE time...to step back, 'cool off' and regain perspective.

I learned, in a very painful way, that logic and rational thoughts go out the window when one is emotional (positive or negative).

My money is gone but the scammer's bank has put a hold on all outgoing funds. I know a local police dept. detective and a case is being opened here. eBay also referred me to a site, http://www.ic3.gov/, that deals with Internet-related crimes.

I just need to get some of this out and warn my friends, family and loved ones. This is my first public declaration of what happened.

Please, please be cautious and don't ever let this happen to you. It is one of the most awful experiences I have ever been through and, unfortunately, this is only the beginning.

Thanks for 'listening'

Clayton

I'm sorry to hear that Clayton. I just "discovered" eBay myself.....I just successfully sold my first item. So I'm waiting patiently to hear what happened to you.

Once again......sorry. :(

Thanks mitchman. eBay is a really awesome product of the Internet. But, as with good things, there are sometimes bad people using and abusing them.

I will continue to use eBay. In fact, I've already made a purchase since this.

My advice (some of it...LOL) is to use the eBay and PayPal system for correspondence and payment.

One of the first things the scammer did is to email me directly (not through eBay messages/My Messages). By using this, eBay will have a complete record of what took place, what was promised, etc.

In terms of payment, you may know that eBay owns PayPal. Use them! There are a number of 'built in' and optional buyer/seller protection services. This is another area where the scammer used the 'Vehicle Purchase Protecton' program to give me a false sense of security.

Oh man that sucks Clayton. Hopefully, that individual will receive retribution in this lifetime.

And to totally change the subject, I finally had a chance to take Kramer on an awesome roadtrip through the deserts of Southern California. Go to https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...71#post1275471.

Pictures are just gorgeous! I've always wanted to visit Death Valley or better yet, just drive out west period! I've made the Texas to Florida trips more times than I can remember, but never driven West of San Antonio.

Moms can make anything feel better .

A fellow NAMer made me the logo - I love it! And I'm working with your friend Mike at Aesthetic Creations on a static/decal for my passenger's side dash. It should look pretty sweet!

Clayton, I hate to hear about your recent bad luck! Hopefully everything will work out and come back to you soon...

BLISS is getting a new clutch tomorrow... let's hope that fixes him right up.
