I too am 27!! we need a 27 while in week 27 club!! Since there is a club for EVERYTHING!!

 

Let's see. I bought my first new car when I was just a wee bit (couple of years) younger than you and it was a brand new 1971 Chevy Vega hatchback. I have a child (young adult offspring) that is the same age as the oldest person to post their age so far (Chimera). Not too old for a brand new MINI Cooper S though and I have grown more patient with time.

EDIT: Correction "...I have not grown more patient with time."

 

OK. I had almost stopped checking the OL and ASK MINI. Yesterday, the robot voice at ASK MINI said "Your vehicle is at the port awaiting a shipping vessel. There's no shipping information available at this time." Even though I knew, in reality, that our cars had been discharged from the Patriot and at the VPC since Monday. The OL said it was "Enroute." Pretty timely information, NOT.

I don't even know why I check but today ASK MINI says my vehicle is in transit and the OL status changed to "AT DISTRIBUTION CENTER." The most interesting thing is...... now there is an Estimated Delivery Date of 7/24/2006." Could OL status finally be true? Who knows but Monday would be good.

 

47 for me and I think I'm the only one with this production week coming to St. Louis, MO that I know of anyway. I purchased a MINI on 31 Dec 05 (CR/B "Gunner") but it was totaled in a rear end accident on April 25. This time I'm getting a RG/RG that is supposed ot be arriving in Charleston tomorrow so i should still see it in St. Louis around 1-4 Aug.

 

Thanks for the update, Beauregard. I had kinda given up on the OL as well, but per your info, I went and checked. Mine now says the same thing as you, with an estimated delivery date of 7/23! But I believe that delivery date is the date it will be delivered to the dealership. From there the dealership will have it for a little bit (according to my MA, about a day). That jives with the e-mail I got from my MA today - he said it should come in Monday because the trucking company doesn't deliver on Sunday, which just happens to be the 23rd. So everything sounds like we'll be motoring at the beginning of next week!!!!

 

Good news indeed. 8/19 is good weekend for me to do the trip.

 

I believe you are right about the delivery date being the date delivered to the dealership. I predict we will be motoring by Tuesday. Maybe we should have a pool.

 

Well, I am just hoping that it is ready before Thursday as that is my birthday, and the car is a present for myself.

I know the party who ordered it for me would be thrilled if it arrived on time to give to me. I still must pretend its a suprise.

Did you hear anything back from the Service Manager? I left him a message also but no return call yet.

 

 

No, nothing from the service manager.... I also left a voice mail for Jeff.

I will be pissed if there are holes in my bumper.

 

If you left him the message they probably won't drill. I'll try to give Jeff a call tomorrow.

Turcicus, you are so freakin lucky! I am so jealous - I've got another MONTH till I can get my behind in a mini.

Red & Crusoe - I got confirmation from my MA that Nightcrawler is on the Auto Banner with your minis. She said it'd probably be in Utah & ready for me to drive away in around the 19th of August. Which should work out well, as I have a conference in Logan UT I was thinking of attending that week... hopefully I can just pitch the return flight ticket and motor home.

Btw, it looks like the Trinidad docked at the 2nd port--which I believe is the NEAT because my status on the WW site still says "loaded on vessel."
