Well the Trinidad left Halifax a few hours ago.

Not to burst anyone's bubbles who are on it, but Tropical Storm Beryl is brewing up in Mid-Atlantic. She's expected to move up along the East Coast within the next few days. I'm really really hoping the Trinidad can avoid her path and get out of her hair.

Thats a scary thing to see! The Emden is supposed to dock in Baltimore on the 25th and Charleston on the 27th. I think that it goes to NY before that, so the 23rd maybe... that's got me a little worried, but I guess it's not the first time that these guys have sailed through storms...

OH LORD - I completely forgot about the tropical storm going up the coast.... Surely the Trinidad is large enough to not let a few little waves stop it from getting our beloved Mini's to NY. Guess there will be alot of fingers and toes crossed tonight along with "please get my Mini to port and I will be a good girl" prayers. Hee Hee.

LOL, neverfifty!

Hey, have you guys checked "Owner Perks" on OL recently? Some marketing campaign and there's a rather long and interesting discussion about it here on NAM:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=73482

Has anyone here received this "black box" in the mail?

I hope the Patriot can skirt the storms and make on time to Charleston. I'm not pressed for time but don't want to wait any long then possible to get back into a MINI, I miss mine.

Know Ship - Need Tracking Info

Yesterday I was told by my MA that my MINI that was completed on 7/4/06 was put on a ship a two or three days ago. My MINI is going to the west coast.

The name of the ship is "Auto Banner". Other than that I can't find much information, and I can seem to track it. Here is all I know:

http://www.shipphotos.co.uk/pages/autobanner.htm

http://cgmix.uscg.mil/PSIX/VesselRes...esselID=301110

I still can't get it to track on any of the tracking sites. Can anyone else have more luck? Please help!

Cheers,
Bruce

Hey Bruce,

Well you are shipmates with me, astrochex, Cruesoe and tethernaut. And no, there isn't any other info that is EASILY available. It's the shipper they use for the west region - NYK Line - and they do not have online tracking. I have found no other online info other than you have.

I learned some stuff from my MA. The ship left Southampton on 7/16. Estimated arrival at Port Hueneme is 8/9. I did speak with an NYK rep (after SEVERAL calls trying to find someone who could even begin to help me) and she had to call me back to confirm what I know. The Bill of Lading is NYK620990853, Voyage 83. There are 373 "units" listed on that BL and she had to use my VIN to determine Jake is in there.

So until the Auto Banner (what a name, eh?) gets close to Port Hueneme (and we can use AIS) there not squat we can do IMHO.

Hang in there!

Yup, I saw that. I've been wondering if we can expect our "black boxes" pretty soon, or whether they won't show up until after the car does.

My guess is not until the car has arrived, unless you've already paid for the entire thing up front. It's not yours until you sign the papers

Auto Banner UPDATE!!!

Just spoke with my MA and he said that he's showing that the Auto Banner will arrive on 8/5... NOT 8/9!!!!

That is the sweetest news! Esp. without on-line tracking.

So, motorbruce, astrochex, Crusoe, and tethernaut...we may be motoring earlier than thought!

In fact, my MA said he doesn't see why I couldn't have delivery by the weekend of 8/19. WAAAA-HOOOO!!!!

Great news on the Auto Banner, Red! I'm praying my mini will get to Utah by the 19th, because I'll be there for a conference that week anyway, and I'd really rather not have to make two trips. It'd be so sweet to be able to MOTOR home from the conference!

Congrats Scooter!! Now it's my turn to try and get a tentative delivery date out of my MA

Tomorrow I start all of the stuff that needs to get done before I can get the car, which means actually getting the thing is really close. Tomorrow I have to have the aftermarket stereo taken out of my current car and the original put back (my wife is getting the aftermarket in her car). Saturday my wife and I go into the bank to sign the loan papers. Sunday I'll probably change the oil on my current car, as I have one of those Fram easy-drain things that I should probably take off and replace with the normal drain plug. Hopefully these next few days will go quick, 'cause I want my MINI!!!!

It's hard trying to keep busy and WAIT, isn't it? But we are all getting down to the last days...most everyone should be at less than a month, yes? Or at least very close to that. I could very well...let's just go with LIKELY will...have my MINI by one month from today. In fact, I possibly will have been motoring for a couple of days. How does that sound? YEAH BABY!!!

I can't believe you guys are going to have your MINIs in JULY. Six weeks from order to pick up? That is GREAT. I'll be at 10 to 11 weeks. Ah well, you big city/East coast folks get some benes that us tumbleweeds don't!

Yep, I'm expecting mine by Saturday 29th at the latest....no confirmation from my MA of that, but I have no dealer installed options and the dealer is only 3 hours from the port so if there are no holdups at the VDC mine should be hitting the dealer early next week and pickup shouldn't be long after that. I just have to drive down there so it may have to wait until the Saturday unless I suddenly fall ill and have to stay home from work...

Oh, that would be AWFUL. Hopefully you'd feel well enough to go get your BRAND NEW SHINY JUST-CAN'T-WAIT-TO-MOTOR BABY BASIL! We'll all just have to hope for the best.

I was also curious about that and is that why prep is taking so long? From today until 8/7 is more than two weeks. That just seems like a long time for dealer prep. I'm hoping mine will be a the dealer just a day or two at the most. Sounds like you're getting it just like you want it though. Congrats.

Hello my fellow PW27SG'ers. Well, for those on the Trinidad, tomorrow's our day! It's scheduled to dock at 5:00 PM EDT. Is everybody just as excited as I am?! I guess I have it best as my dealership is just under an hour from the VDC (sorry Chimera, I beat ya ). I'm really hoping for a pickup next Wed. or Thurs. Sick day is good. I'll followup with my MA tomorrow morning to extract more details.

I'M SO EXCITED!

COUGH.
