Thanks for all your candle lighting and prayers! They seem to have done the trick! Lifted it up this afternoon and clean as a whistle! I guess some tech really was messy. My dealership should be giving a sigh of relief since they will no longer be getting a MINI shoved up their backside!

Well I am very happy to hear that everything seems to be ok with Mary. You deserve to win the lottery or something for all of the trouble you have gone through.

Well, it's FINALLY done! I ordered some pics of the MTTS Albuquerque event and decided to have them framed with the badge. Just got it today! (Took it in 9/28...krikey).

I'd say it's pretty darn cool!

That is an awesome way to remember such a cool event. I'm going to pass this along to some friends of mine that joined a couple of legs that were north of us. They'll love it!

Oh, my mileage update.... 11,500 right now, but will hit 12,000 this weekend and will be getting my first service done in about 2 weeks! Crazy!

Thanks for the compliments!

Was wondering how everyone was doing on mileage. I knew you would be out there, Drew. I just passed 5000...half way to my first service. Drew you a motoring maniac!

:-) And loving every mile of it! The fun thing is, the miles I have put on my car for work since I bought it have been covering almost the whole car payment every month... not a bad way to do it is it? Plus a bunch of them are in the mountains... and we all know how much fun that is!

Oh, and Clayton, I still use that mousepad and love it. It's funny because the S curve looks almost identical to the Cooper "S" too.

Ok, time to go motoring... maybe I'll try to get myself lost tonight and find my way home.

I just passed 6,000 miles on my MINI. When I had to take it in for the whole tranny swap, I asked for them to change the oil. I have a hard time believing that 10k miles is OK for an engine without an oil change. So, I will probably foot the bill to get it done in between the every 10k check up.

Lovin' every mile of my MINI so far. Every drive is fun! Seriously, who would have ever thought you'd desire to drive your car around all the time? I love the MINI people too... they are just great people!

I'm stoked!

I had an unanticipated Checkmate bonding experience driving home from work on Friday.

I was cruising in traffic on the Eastbound 91 in Fullerton when the car in front of me moves over. And I see what looks to be an MCS a bit ahead. I naturally speed up when I see the color is similar to mine and the roof is silver. No way I think, can't be a Checkmate.

Thankfully I was wrong 'caused when I pulled along side her she was a sweet SB/S MCS with a unroof and aero package. I had my window rolled down and she did to. We were both cracking up. She said something that I couldn't understand. We motored briefly with me in front and then pulled side-by-side again before she exited at Harbor.

That totally made my day. I hope it made hers also!

I'm almost at 4K....should hit it tomorrow. I guess not having my car for a month has slowed down my pace dramatically!

No, I don't have her back yet. I stopped by the dealership today at lunch to install them.
Hey that's some nice looking door sills

Think you could send me some pics of that?

BTW to the rest of you. Door sills like this will be on my website very soon. I'm now making them for the Aero kits and the stock Door Sills.

Like these I did this weekend.

My mileage is up around 4500 now. Drew, I can't believe you're near 12000 already!! At least you're being paid for it

On a suckier note (although not nearly as bad as everything you've gone through, GB), I went out to the mailbox this morning and realized I lost an exhaust tip! It's my own fault though, as I swapped my originals for another pair of stock tips that weren't so dinged up, and didn't use any loctite. I honestly didn't think it would be necessary, but I guess I was wrong. I'll be heading to the store tonight to get some loctite and put one of my originals back on.

See? Aren't you glad I convinced you to make them after an hour of me begging?

If it will ever stop raining around here and I can get Mary cleaned up, I'll take some good pictures and shoot them your way!

Alrighty, here are some pics from Saturdays drive down the Blue Ridge Parkway to Murphy, NC. I actually drove on HWY 129, Tapoco Rd, ya know... the Tail of the Dragon... Ok, so I didn't go as far as the Dragon, but was within about 30 miles of it... and will be visiting out there again in a couple weeks and I think it's time for BLISS to meet the Dragon! Anyway, scroll away for pics. Oh, and I'm at 12,500 now... did quite a bit of driving while I was there.

Drew

Wow, my I'm only coming up on 4,000 in almost 3 months. My husband is like
"where in the world do you find to drive so much?" I'm like "anywhere, anytime.!!"

I'm at 6500 as of today, 3 months and 11 days. Good news is my wife just got a job 5 miles from where I work, so we're going to (hopefully) be buying a house much nearer. No more 80 mile round trip every day

Make sure you win enough gas money to get home! Think you might go to AMVIV? I was trying to work it out myself, but my son's spring break doesn't line up with it like I thought it would.

AMVIV is next week?

I'm going for business. The very cool part is that 1) I get to drive and take the long way there and back if I choose and 2) my sister's family lives there so I am staying with them.

I am planning on going thru Death Valley on the way up. I have never been there so I am hoping its awesome.

AMVIV is not till March.

Thanks GBMiniGirl. I await your beautiful Photos.

I've had my VTEC mini for 4 months and I've put 10400 on it already.

My last MINI I put 67K on it in 2 years. Chalk it up to lots of Fun Runs

The latest mod...

These seem kind of silly but when Rogue MINIs put 'em on sale, I thought what the heck?

So here are Jake's new eyes!

I am now entering the area of UNDER THE BONNET mods (I guess the eyes got me there)!

So, who in the PW27SG fam has done the cold air intake? I'm on the verge of an Alta.

Any input???

I've heard great things about the ALTA intake, and have actually had a chance to drive/ride in a couple of MINI's with them. As long as you like the sound of the supercharger, you won't be disappointed! You'll hear the S/C more with this intake than just about any other out there. Plus the red tubing and filter would match very nicely. :-P

Drew

PS. Loving the eyes... I'd like to do a set sometime soon too.

Aside from hp and torque gains (and, of course, SC sound enhancement), I've heard of some decent mileage improvments as well.

Actually, I'm headed towards a blue intake. For some reason, a red filter, a red intake and a red MINI strikes me as too much RED!

I'm wondering about the sound. I've heard (no pun) different things about it. There's a cover/lid for the box now for that and, I guess, additional efficiency???

Sometimes there's TOO MUCH INFORMATION.

Btw, love your new pics!
