Yeah I also vote for TR 3VOM, that's great. I always loved when plates look strange, then when you see them in your mirror you can read it.

I still haven't decided on mine, though I am leaning toward DOWNSIZE.

My front plate is 71C4N37, it's a British plate from Frampton's. Nobody ever sees what it says . It really should have a Y at the front but British plates I've seen always have 7 characters, so mine does too. I always like to think it's the answer to the question the driver in front of me must have in his mind as he wonders how such a tiny car can keep up with him

Two MINI Events

Last Sunday I organized a MINI run to an apple orchard and though despite the rain, we had 10 MINIs in all show up. I am definitely going to organize the event again next year and hopefully it won't be pouring rain. Can't keep a good MINI driver down (or away)!

The other event happened today. Our local dealership held a autocross event with BMW CCA techs. A bunch of MINIs showed up... I would say about 50 or so. It was a beautiful 70 degree day and a much different contrast than last Sunday!

Just a note about posting pics. Resize them to about 4 inches wide, and a resolution of 150 dpi. 230 dpi is very high for websites. 150 dpi will load faster for everyone.

Got the new tranny in and picked up Pi Rho today. Seems to shift a lot smoother and less notchy than the other one. Also passed 5k miles today. I had them change the oil during the tranny switch.

One thing though... its a REMANUFACTURED tranny... Now I just have to decide, what's worse, a USED tranny, or a semi-broken NEW tranny?

Reman always . A reman transmission is rebuilt according to current engineering standards, presumably with components that have corrected what caused the trans to fail in the first place. Also reman units usually carry pretty decent warranty.

Remanufactured?! I'm not so sure I'd be real pleased about that. A new car should have a new tranny IMHO. I think I'd feel jipped somehow. I guess we'll see.... I still haven't heard back on mine.

I agree that the reman tranny would seem a little like a loss, but as long as it fixes the new one and you don't have any problems I don't see it as being too bad. It sucks to think that a 2 month old car would get remanufactured parts, but it sucks even more thinking that a 2 month old car needs a new transmission... They'll be checking out mine on Monday/Tuesday while it is in for the seat cover again. I might also have the MINI tech that I've become friends with drive it to get his opinion.

Drew

PS. When rereading my post... "reman tranny" are probably two words I shouldn't have used next to each other, hahaha.

Vanity Plate!

Finally! After waiting 2 1/2 months, Pi Rho has his vanities... and his namesake to boot!

I think the plate looks better at a distance... which is perfect for those driving behind.

Plate looks great!

Update on my tranny woes:

Got a voicemail from my SA yesterday morning saying, basically, that MINI service just couldn't get the picture of what was going on my what was submitted over the internet. So, a tech went out in my car again and guess what? Couldn't replicate the sound. So, my SA went to the head service manager, with whom I have a hate/hate relationship with because of the tranny issues I had with Mosquito. He said, "Well, it only has 2,000 miles on it and she has lots of warranty left, so just tell her to come get it and see what happens in the future if it gets worse." I hate that guy. That's exactly what happened when Mosquito was in warranty. Guess what happened at 69,000 miles?! It died! So, I called my SA back Friday afternoon (when I realized I had the voicemail...whoops) and told him to do me one last favour....it's Friday afternoon in Houston. That means that the intersection right in front of the dealership is completely jammed with traffic. I asked him to get one of the techs to warm up the car and then, with my SA driving, go sit in the traffic and see what happens. So, amazingly enough, he did. And it did the noise several times, very loudly! WOO-HOO! He calls me back and said they have much more information now and are submitting stuff back to MINI to see what happens. Thank God! I'm NOT going thru this again.

Oh, on the semi-upside of things, the custom door sills I ordered from Aesthetic Creations came in yesterday! They look fantabulous!!! I'm so glad I finally convinced them that I wasn't crazy for wanting them domed with resin. Now, if I only had the car to put them on....

Pi Rho? I though it said Pirho, like some kind of a Greek food!

My latest "mod"

Well, it isn't for Jake but it's related. I LOVE watches and this one is SO HIP (IMHO)! Got it on eBay, brand new and from the motherland across the pond! Retails for about $160 on sale and I got this for $120 shipped from England.

This chrono watch shows the day and date in the smaller dials. Has the signature orange as well.

Just thought I would post the newest picture of BLISS. He hit 10,000 miles right before this picture!!! The craziest thing is, I haven't been driving BLISS in the rain for the last month, and have put 1,500 miles on my other ride since I picked up BLISS on July 31st.

I added the aero grille and bimmian silver bulbs in the front and side marker lights yesterday. Man I LOVE this car!

Sorry... I guess that was a members only gallery or something. I hadn't thought about that being the issue. Hopefully it works now, it's linked from my gallery on here.
