Drew, I know the feeling! Buddha has over 4k on him in less than 2 months!

We just got back from a lovely road trip through 3 states and Buddha performed flawlessly. He even tried to convince me that he could go offroading (yeah, as long as there aren't any obstacles higher than 2" in the way!)

Averaged about 33 mpg, too!

A lot of fun and I cannot wait to take him on another road trip.

Wow, 1,600 replies, that's crazy!

By the way, I relized you might not be able to see pics from MySpace unless you have an account, I'll put a couple in my gallery later today.

Mrs Peel finally got her stripes. Now just waiting for the vanity plate to get here. Took her on the first road trip this past Sunday. What fun and boy do these little cars move. I only went a total of 200 miles, but at least I got to get above 30 mph! Next road trip will be to Syracuse, 71/2 hr ride, well at least it used to take that long. With the Cooper I may get there sooner. What a joy, I am so glad I decided to get a MINI.

You guys have to quit driving like I do! I got out of break-in in 9 days. I've had her exactly 2 weeks and she's at 1500 miles.

Mary went back to MoTW today to get the stuff from pick-up fixed, as well as a few other issues I've noticed since:

Pick-up:

The scratches on the roof (may have to be repainted, they're pretty deep)

The sperm scratch in the pass. side tint

The overspray on the interior door panels

After:

The driver's side door makes noise rolling up (prolly just needs more grease)

The rear wiper sprayer is leaking and has stained the boot hatch. Yes, I am a victim of the dreaded washer fluid issue. I've never even used it. It's left a dark yellow stain right smack down the center of my stripes.

Most importantly, first gear has issues! It doesn't always want to go into gear from Neutral and sometimes when it does, it makes a horrible noise. Believe it or not, I was actually able to replicate it for the tech this morning. How often does that happen? I think it's actually a clutch issue...we shall see.

They'll have Mary for a few days. In the meantime, I have a DS/B MCSa with a roof rack. Anyone want to go skiing?

Yeah, I have actually been having some issues with my transmission too... it also has problems going into gear at times. Usually it's at cold start, but even after waiting a minute or so for it to warm up...

Mine will be chillin at Flow MINI for a day at some point this week or weekend. The stitching on the passenger side seat was open in a spot so they are putting a new cover on it for me. Dash has a rattle also, and passenger side window makes some noise...

Funny thing is though, I love this car enough that the "quirks" really don't even bother me!

Actually, nothing against you guys with the paddles, but I'm not a big fan. Personal preference I guess. I like the feel of my Whalen in my hand.

I agree 100%. I'm actually looking for a shift **** but can't find anyone that makes one like I want... I just want a simple, ball style, maybe slightly larger than stock... Sounds like a Whalen right? Nope, I'm looking for one covered completely in black suede. Anyone know of anything like this? Or would I be better off making it myself?

I have this issue too! I brought it into the dealership the first of September and they said it was a loose transmission bushing. I didn't have any problems with it not going into first all the way from neutral, but this past week, it is starting to happen once and awhile. I'm worried about a potential long term problem with the clutch/tranny now that I hear other people have a similar issue!

I was extra freaky about it since I had just had the tranny replaced in my 03 (Midland transmission.....'nuff said, ugh!). This time around, I'm being extra picky and documenting EVERYTHING!

It's not that it didn't want to go into first "all the way" but that it didn't want to go there to begin with. It was like something was blocking it. When it made the noise, it was like it was grinding past the blocking thingy. It's kinda hard to explain. The clutch seems extra squishy too, more so than my hubby's (with the Getrag).

Just wish they'd given me a cabrio loaner. The weather's gorgeous!!!

I have occasionally had a minor bit of trouble getting into 1st and 3rd gears, though I've so far attributed this to the transmission being so new. When it happens, it feels like I'm fighting against something squishy in there, similar to but not as drastic as the resistance you get when you shift into reverse.

In these circumstances it almost seems like there is a halfway point to the gear. If I use steady continuous pressure, it goes the whole way into gear okay, but if I try to smack it in gear and get my hand back to the wheel, it will sometimes "bounce" back halfway into the gear. Twice it has even bounced out of gear. The first time I blamed myself thinking I was just too quick with the clutch, but the second time...

It has gotten a bit better, and it certainly does not make any noises. In fact, I've observed that my shift linkage seems to generally make less noise than other MINIs. If it continues, though, I'll be taking it in.

I did get the window groan on the passenger's side the other day. Doesn't happen every time, but I'll have to have them take a look at that one.

That's what started happening on my '03 and they could "never replicate the problem." Turns out, it was the beginning of my synchro going out...or something like that. Get it checked!!!!!

I apologized to Firecracker ysterday; 1900 miles of commuting, no real motoring yet.

Good drive in this morning though, saw a whole mess of MINIs including a cute MC40 at the 405N/605N intersection. Gave her a cool car signal and made her smile.

Why I love my dealership

I stopped in yesterday afternoon to inquire about Mary's status and to see if I could get my cell phone charger out of the glove box as my phone was about dead. I made a joke to my SA about how she should have given me a convertible as the weather was so gorgeous outside. She reaches into a black box on her desk and hands me some keys. I told her I was only joking. She said, "Well we have 4 sitting out there, take one!" So, I did! Motored home topless, so to speak, with a big ol' grin on my face!

I have been planning to post how much I'm enjoying the Sport Drive. Now seems like a good time! I felt it was nearly sacrilege to buy a MINI with a auto tranny. But, I am LOVING the option of either auto, semi, and the AGITRONIC PADDLES. I LOVE being able to leave Jake in Drive but if I need a little zip (to pass, get out of the way or just because I FEEL THE NEED - ) I just click down and z-z-z-z-z-ipppp!!! The super-charger whines and off like a rocket (a red one in this case).

Btw, thanks to Chimera for the tire pressure reminder. I hadn't until this week - - but all of mine were at 30! That's 5 under the recommended. I can tell you not only did the feel of the ride, control, roll, etc feel better but I know it's going to help my MPG.

I just gave in today and ordered my Euro Tray. It's only been a week or so since I ordered something for Jake.

That's awesome! It's was going to cost me $30/day just to get a MINI while Jake was in the shop for his boot paint. Nice perk!

Picked up Mary this morning. Everything is pretty much fixed...except the first gear thing.

"We couldn't duplicate it on our own after you left." I sat there thinking, "What's wrong with the time I duplicated it with your tech?" I guess that tech wasn't capable enough? So, I ventured out with the shop manager and guess what? Couldn't duplicate it. Oh well, it hasn't done it since, but I really think it's because the car was cold. I told them if there's bad traffic on the way to work one day and it starts doing it, I'm coming straight in!

I'm just happy to have my baby back....and I thoroughly documented everything.

Oh, and Red Scooter? You're going to looooooove the parcel tray. I really missed mine this week.

1 month today!

I've had Jake for one month today!

AND...he was christened with his new personalized plates (they came just in time)!

Now I smile even more when I see him...
