Production Week 27 (July 3, 2006) Support Group
Even though I'm technically Week 28, I still plan to check in here for your updates as well as inform you of mine.
Just got off the phone with Amy from AM (very nice woman with a cute voice
) and she told me mine's in the paint shop. 7/9, almost there!

Arrrgh! (spoken with a pirate accent) My mini is still sitting at the Southampton port, twiddling its tyres, waiting for its ship to come in... And the VIN doesn't show up in the WW system, so I can't find out when it'll ship out.
Meanwhile, everywhere I drive, I see minis.... they're everywhere. Taunting me. They're taunting me, I tell you.

Hey tethernaut,
I'm in the same boat.
Acutally, given we're both in the westerm US, our babies WILL be on the same boat.
My wee one left for Southampton yesterday so he's likely twiddling his tyres with yours.
I checked the WW ship schedule and I'm guess we'll be on the Madame Butterfly departing July 13, arriving at Port Hueneme August 2.
There's nothing else to check until it's on a ship.
Could it go on another shipping line?

Ok, I slipped a gear, I wanted to ask how you folks find out the production dates of your MINI? Mine was biult roughly two weeks ago and is "on the boat" I would just like to know a exact date.
Thanks

Do you know which boat yours is in?
Thanks Guys, I'm trying to get that info now. but the WW site keeps telling me that my VIN is not in the database. So Who knows? My guess is that it is on the Figaro. Departed on the 1st of July, in LA on the 23rd. ICK I can't wait that long
I've been toiling in the backyard all day installing edging and planters. Not fun in the Texas heat/humidity
.
Worse still, I broke my hoe, though I've had a grand time telling everyone I come across about the fact.
As for the Mini, I'm guessing it is done by now and on its way toward Southampton...but I don't have anyone to talk to about it until Monday and the automated options haven't updated.

Hey Doogs...
Yep, I know the weather. Arizona is not that much different. I have, however, been in Canada for the past week. British Columbia is gorgeous this time of year.
There really isn't much to do but wait now. But I've grown accustomed to my peeps in the NAM group.
Did you figure out which ship you're on? I think the Western U.S. people should be on the Madame Butterfly leaving Southampton July 13...arriving Port Hueneme August 2.

I'm here Red Scooter! My MINI just finished production yesterday (the 7th) and I am waiting for it to show up on the WW tracking webpage, but no luck yet. :-/
It is true what they say... 'Waiting is the hardest part'! :P

Well AM is saying mine is supposed to be finished on the 12th. I am really hoping this puts me on the Resolve, which appears to go directly from Southampton to Charleston from the 16th-26th. If it loads on the 15th it will not arrive until the 29th. I'm another borderline 27th/28th weeker since it started this week and will be finished next week. I can't wait to get my baby.
I've been going to a lot of local Mini events ever since I placed my order and it has only fueled the fire. I rode with the Tarheel Minis through some very nice country/mountain roads in NC today and had a blast. These cars handle corners so well, especially considering their price range!
I'm also trying to order a couple of mods before my car comes in, but I may put the money into the car instead so I am financing even less. Oh well, I have another month to decide anyway!

Cool beans on your MINI. Mine was "born" just a day before yours! But I'm sure our MINIs will be on different ships. Mine needs to come to the West Coast. I don't think anything will show up on the WW site until you've been scheduled for shipping. That's when your baby goes on the manifest.
I'm hoping to be on the Madame Butterfly leaving Southampton July 13! It will arrive in Port Hueneme August 2nd.
Our Minis painted using a new process
Hey guys-
Interesting article over at MotoringFile:
http://motoringfile.com/2006/07/09/m...stem/#comments
Says they switched to the new paint process in May, so our minis are among the first to be painted using this new process. Hopefully the new process will do something to help avoid the door sill rust problems some of the '05 owners are finding. And let's hope that this new primer-less process doesn't have any long-term problems.

NY/NJ Port Tracking
Just a link for folks on a ship due to arrive in NY/NJ - click on this link and then select "Vessel Activity". It will show you when your ship is due to arrive in port. My MINI is on the MIGNON, due to dock here on 7/11 at 1700 according to this site.

Where did you get such specific info about your baby loading, etc.? The WW site?
Wahoo! OL has updated, and my baby's done and awaiting transport! I'm going to call ASK-MINI shortly, but I'm making myself get a project off my desk and out the door before I indulge.
Update: Just talked to AM, found out that my Mini made it to the port today. I suppose it's just sitting there, dangling its tires in the water and waiting for its ship to come in...
