Production Week 27 (July 3, 2006) Support Group

I had him fax me the order confirmation so that I could double check it. Under the "production dates" section, I see the following:
Status: 112 - Scheduled for daily production pack
Production dates (Yr/Mo/Wk)
Req. Prod: 2006/07/27
Sub. Prod: 2006/07/27
Cont. Prod: 2006/07/28
Quota: 2006/07
Obivously Req = Requested and Sub = Submitted, but I'm not sure what Cont would stand for. Continued? Does that make any sense? In any case, having lurked around these forums a bit the last couple days I realize that I'm very lucky to get into production so quickly.
As for my specs:
MC
BRG w/ Black top
Black bonnet stripes w/ white rule
Chrome mirror caps
Premium & cold weather packages
Center arm rest
Sunroof wind deflector
iPod adapter
I'm definitely going to be naming my mini and I've been referring to it as the Green Racer (hence the s/n) but I know that I won't be able to truly name it until I actually take delivery. I need to get a feel for it's personality before I can pick the perfect name, ya know?

The other thing is that your "production" week is actually your COMPLETION week. That sort of blows my week overlap theory though!
I'll bet you're right. That could be some after-market. Too bad it's so cryptic. Did you call ASK MINI (1-866-ASK-MINI)? There is an automated Vehicle Production Status and you can speak to a live person (not sure about on weekends though). But, with your production number it will tell you your status. Mine says "Scheduled for production with an estimated completion date of July 6, 2006." THAT will be more accurate than the Owner's Lounge and if you can speak to a live person, even better.
Then you'll know FOR SURE about your production week/completion date.

Not that it really matters too much either way. Best case scenario I'll be able to get it the last week of July, worst case mid August. I've got a bit of a wait in front of me regardless.
Must practice patience...
(I need some sort of "not likely" smilie)
There are no people at ASK-MINI on the weekends. They will be gone on the 4th, too, but you can call and bug them tomorrow.
Personally, I'm wondering if "cont." might stand for "Contingent", and if your Mini doesn't make Week 27, it'll be built in Week 28.

The way I look at it, best case scenario I'll take delivery late July. Worst case, mid-August. I can live with that. If I absolutely have too.
Wow, I missed a whole page of posts!!
Got an e-mail from my MA yesterday morning, and as of that time, my MINI was in the paint shop! So, as the paint shop portion usually takes about 11 hours (I read that somewhere), I would think it would be in assembly right now and on-track to be completed tomorrow. The info I get from the automated ASK-MINI is still wacky (it now says "Your MINI is in the Body Shop, with an estimated completion date of June 26, 2006 - huh??
), so I plan on giving a live person a call tomorrow

.I have a feeling that ASK-MINI is going to be slammed with calls tomorrow morning from us eagers PW27ers trying to find out where our Minis are!
I'm with you, Red Scooter. My MA is awesome in person, but I haven't gotten a whole lot of answers to my e-mails or messages.
I e-mailed him a whole bunch of questions last night, including when to expect a final out-the-door price, so we'll see if and when I get a response.
In the meantime, nothing new from ASK-MINI. Amanda there told me it only takes two days to actually build the cars, so I probably won't hear any "your Mini is in the paint shop" until Thursday or so.
Will that stop me from calling later today, and tomorrow? NO!

Doogs, I just got off the phone with Amanda myself! She informed me that my MINI hasn't quite finished up the quality check stage, but once it does, that's it, it'll be done! So I'm hopin' it jumps on a ship real quick-like this week

I think my mini made it to the dock today, but missed today's boat to Pt. Hueneme. I'm hoping it'll catch the the next one, "Madame Butterfly", so it'll get here by early August.
Just looked at the shipping schedule...after the Patriot, no ships (at least WW ships) until the 15th...the Courage and the Resolve.
Guess I won't have to worry about missing any ships, at least...

Mine was produced today!!!! :-) It was set for week 28 but I called today and they said it is in production as of today!!!!! Funny thing is that today is my little sisters birthday. I hadn't decided on a name for her yet but since she will be in production on the 4th of July, I think I'll call her "Indi." I haven't read any of the posts on this thread, but I wanted to join since mine is being produced today. :-)

tethernaut, thanks for that link. I had been looking around in other posts for it and couldn't find it. As for the port it'll be off-loaded at here, I honestly have no idea if it'll be NJ/NYC or SC. The dealership is pretty much smack in-between the two. I'll have to ask my MA.
Drew, welcome!!! Nice color choice

Independence Day update: just for the heck of it, I called the automated ASK-MINI today, 'cause I think it's fun
. And wouldn't ya know, it said production was complete and my car was waiting to be released to the carrier!! That means it's sitting down at the dock waiting on a boat!!!! Woo hoo!!!

New update from a week 26er - my MINI did NOT make it onto the Freedom as I originally thought, but is now actually loaded and sailing on the MIGNON, as of July 2nd! Should be in the US around 7/10-12, depending which port it is off-loaded at. Wonder how long it will take at the dealer's for accessories & prep....
Glad (and a wee bit envious)
that you all are moving along and able to get updated/accurate info! I get the SAME message from OL, AM and live reps..."In production and scheduled for completion July 6, 2006." Actually the live reps say completion is July 5. ???
Oh well, my guess/hope is that ZING my baby will be done and off to port.
Congrats to those who are further along in the "birthing" process!!!

UPDATE!! It looks like I'm booked on the Undine, scheduled to leave Southampton today!!! Hopefully the car will actually be on it.
Red Scooter, I didn't seem to get any real updates while the car was in production until right before it was almost done, and then they came in a flurry. Since the live rep said today was your estimated completion date, give 'em a call today, and they should be able to tell you whether it'll actually be done.

COOL NEWS. As of yesterday, my MINI was in the paint shop. Called pretty early as I'm traveling in Canada (would have been AWESOME in my MINI
) and have limited times to call.
Amanda, the AM rep, says I'm still scheduled for completion TODAY! One day earlier than the automated system says. Cool beans.
So, she suggested I call later today for more updates as he'll be ripping through production to be complete today.
Right on!!! Now I just need a "seat" on the "boat" across the pond!!!
