I pick my car up in 3 days -- this is a good question Sboord! I didn't even think about how long i'd be there! Can anyone help us out? What should we expect? Important things to ask?

Is Wallenius Wihlmsen the only company employed to ship Minis? You see, I have a little one waiting on the dock and when I enter my VIN into the auto tracker, it does not show up. It's been that way since Friday. And upon further investigation of their site, I see the next boat scheduled to pick up Minis destined for Charleston, SC (my port of entry) will not leave Southampton until April 13.

JoeJoe-- no, there are other lines that ship minis-- there's just no way to track the other ships as easily.

K-Line also ships MINIs but there's no way (that I know of) to find out what ship you're on using your VIN. You can see the arrival/departure dates for their car carriers here though. If you call your MA, they'll have more information.

Dang,

Does anyone know how to do this other than contacting the MA?

The Owner's Lounge will eventually show you as En Route if you're on a non-WW line but as always, the OL is slow to update and won't give you any detailed info. According to the OL I'm still En Route when my MINI is actually on it's way to the dealer.

If you want to know exactly what ship you're on, I kinda think you've got to contact your MA.

I'd just call your MA. I wasn't crazy about calling mine either, but if you're not on the WW website, that's probably the easiest way to go. Luckily, my Zoe was on WW =)

Do you only get your VIN from your MA? Or does the owners lounge show you? Because my MA never picks up, doesn't respond to emails, and never return voice messages.

Noraa,

I got mine by calling 866-ASK-MINI. After that, I stumbled upon it in the owner's lounge. If you log into the lounge, go to "your mini" (top), then "service log" (left) and voila, there it is.

I first found my VIN in the Owners Lounge. I wasn't aware that 866 ASK MINI even existed until i stumbled across a forum. By then, my car had already landed in the states! :-(

Does anyone know approximately how often a ship leaves? Every week? 2 weeks?

Bad News!

So I contacted aisfree.aislive.com to let them know I was having trouble registering with their website. Bad news is they are shutting down their free site. Here is the e-mail response I received.

Try:

http://www.shipais.com/showship.php?...mmsi=266259000

I'm following the Fedora and it's working so far. Don't know how far out to sea it will work.

Leicaguy,

I don't think this site will work for me. My ship is about 3/4" way across Atlantic at this point approaching the US.

leicaguy,

I did, and it's not there. From the list on the left, I see it may be only for ships in the UK, Scotland, Ireland area.

Yea, I'm now having trouble locating the Fedora now that it has left British waters.

I have a question that might have been answered previously, but I can't find it.

I am a previous owner with an existing account on the Owner's Lounge for my ex 03 MC.

Just ordered a Clubman this past weekend and was given a Production # right away.

How do I check this in the OL? No sign of anything there for new vehicles!?!?! ... all I see is everyhting relating to my old ride.

lurch,

You may have to set up a new account for the new car.

my friend wants to know if its okay to continue with setting up an account on the OL even though the color doesn't match the order. i don't know what answer to give, so i just said wait a few days til it changes to the correct color before continuing with the account setup. do you guys know?
