They did get back to me today and said my vehicle has been released from the port and should be on a truck headed this way! I can pretty much understand why they are so busy, and it will most likely be for the short term as so many panicked buyers with SUV's and guzzlers get tired of shucking out huge sums of cash for their land yachts they can ill afford! We have all made a very smart choice! Perhaps my plate should read, SMARTED.

That's the same experience I had this past weekend when I ordered mine. Went in Thursday to the dealership but didn't realize they closed at 7 pm and I got there at 6:55 and there wasn't a soul in site. Went back on Friday earlier and it was a ZOO!! Talked to a few people and finally got a test drive then the MA gave me my options which were not much to nill. Said they would have one coming in on Wed that I could buy but it wasn't a color I was interested in and had options I didn't want and didnt' have some i did want. After he told me he wasn't trying to pressure me but that car would be gone by tomorrow I Told him no, so he went into his computer and checked the inventory and found me a car that was sorta what i wanted in S Carolina that he said they could trade for... it still wasn't exactly what I wanted so I told him I would sleep on it and call him in the morning.
I slept on it and decided to just build my own and get exactly what I want, I'm not in a big hurry anyway. They were so busy on Saturday that when I got there my MA was on a test drive and while he was out that car was sold out from under the people test driving it. Yes its just that cut throat right now to buy a mini.
The finance manager had to actually order my car for me as the MA was to busy. They did have people from the BMW lot over helping out though.
I do sort of like the fact that you know the price before you get there so there really isn't much haggling to do. I hate haggling. But yeah, I do sort of feel like they are so busy they aren't that concerned if you buy one or not. Not that the MA or the finance manager weren't nice enough.
Mini's are in demand!

May/June 2008 Ship Schuedules

Okay, so while I'm waiting for Wellington to arrive, I took a shot at collecting all the ship departures from Southampton to North American ports over the next month. Note that I don't know if these ships will carry our MINIs, just these are the W/W and K-Line departures on their schedules out of Southampton. Info was pulled as of May 28.

Hope this helps!

Wow... I wish I had seen this when I ordered my Clubman 6 weeks ago. I was about to go ballistic at the website until I found out about 866-ASK-MINI and finally found out my production week! Just wish it was sooner...

Interestingly, the tracking of your mini is often 2-3 days behind. They still show mine at the processing center when in fact it is in my driveway! I love those guys at Checkered Flag mini/BMW! Their service is the best I have ever seen! THis vehicle is beyond any expectations I had of the car. I am astonished at the fit and finish and the complexity of the electronics! Sooooo so very happy right now. I am going to take her and my wife and dog for a nice cruise down the ocean front this afternoon.

Yes, my MINI is on the Independence II, while the OL shows it as scheduled for production and ASK-MINI says it's headed for the port. Hoping for delivery after I get back in town in 2 weeks!

I've been driving my new Clubman since Friday and the miniusa owner's lounge shows that my car is still at the distribution center! I guess they are more than a few days behind on their site. Too bad they can't automate it somehow.

If I have a scheduled completion date of June 5th, when do you think my delivery time should be?

Realistically? Erm, probably 2-3 weeks after the 5th. From memory ours was completed first week of May....picked it up on the 30th May

Well, it really depends on where you are. If you're west coast (or west coast port like me), it takes about 3 weeks just for the ship to get from Southampton to the port. add to that the time waiting for the ship, transport from the port to the dealer, and dealer prep, and it all adds up. Our MINI was completed on May 28, then had to wait until a ship on June 4 (tomorrow). Ship arrives in CA on June 25, then processing and a truck to the dealer in Colorado... we're hoping for July 4 (about 6 weeks after production).

Hello. First Post.

Hi! everyone! I'm waiting to be a new mini owner! I'm scheduled for production week 29 though my dealer said that could be moved up!

I've ordered a mini cooper s clubman standard transmission, lightning blue color with silver "c" and roof, premium, cold weather, and convenience packages, black punched carbon leather seats, fluid silver on dash with blue color line, parking assist, alarm, and with union jack on sunroof, mirrors, scuttle, on plate holder.

Currently delivery is expected the last week of august! That seems an eternity away from now! This will be my first new new car! (rather than new-to-me)

Any one else in production week 29? Anyone else in Arkansas?

Any suggestions on how to wait patiently?

thanks! Cori

Sounds like a very nicely specc'd car. That does seem like a long wait though!

Me Too

I ordered my mini on memorial day (5/26) in memphis tn. I just got the production number today! I am generally a pretty sane guy, but this waiting is killing me. My status in the lounge is set on ordered. I guess my hopes of waiting six weeks are over. This is also my first new car.

Im working on names and right now im leaning toward Loki (norse god of trickery and deceit).

Its a Dark Silver S w/ premium, cold, convenience, black bonnets and chrome bonnet scoop.

Another first time new car buyer here!! I put my order in on 5/24 and called Ask Mini and it says scheduled for production but no confirmed proudction date :(.
Mine is going to be BRGreen with convenience, premium with sirrus, alarm and black racing stripes.
I figured with as popular as these cars are I would have to wait 2 months to get mine but I am sure it will be well worth the wait!

I just got production #today. My dealer said that the company is looking to speed up prduction, especially on clubmans, so there is a good possibility my production week could be moved up. Delivery will stay the same--6 weeks after production. No shortcuts on delivery.

You should call 1 800 ASK MINI - it's usually a little more updated than the lounge.

I'd say give it a week or two and he'll say you're scheduled for production and he'll give you a completion date....I think the time between completion and delivery is going to be the longest wait ever lol.

production week?

My dealer told me at the time of ordering my production week would be week 29. When I called ask mini, the automated service reported the car is ordered but no production has been scheduled yet. Is this common? I think the order went in on Friday of last week or Monday of this week. I am just so excited about getting my new mini!!!!!!

The mini USA site still has mine as being at the place in NY but it has been in my hands for over a week! Your dealer is your best source. He knew each time I called and was very helpful.

MCS Completed

I checked with AskMini who told me that my car's production was completed earlier this week. However, the OL still shows awaiting production. More worrying is that the 'shutterbug' still shows a laser blue with white top. My Maggie is MY/W. I put the VIN # in the shipping site, but no info. My MA says that it should arrive on the East Coast in about 3 weeks. Does this sound about right? I can't seem to find the production week # on the HTML code either. Super frustrating. I hope the MA is right since that would put it somewhere at the end of June or early July!
