I've never dealt with selling a car before, and am trying to figure out what to do with my Integra (12 years old, 137K miles). The trade-in quote was revolting. Can I sell "as is" with mechanic records (and the phone number of my mechanic to confirm condition)? Given that I'm moving on from it because it's stopped feeling reliable, what's my liability if someone buys it and has a problem shortly thereafter? I'm thinking of donating it...it seems easier...

I'd love any advice from folks who have been through this before.

 

Ditto. I'm on the Auto Banner w/astrochex. I'll bet you are, too gromit801. Seems to be the West region ship. I was on the dock from 7/7 to 7/16.

 

Red, how did you determine that you're on the Auto Banner? I couldn't find a tracker.

 

I called my MA. When she said my MINI had left yesterday, I was shocked. Then she gave me the name of the ship and a Bill of Lading # that began with "NYK".

So, you should ask you MA, m'kay?

I just found out that my Mary hitched a ride on K-line's Emden. It departed the 14th for a 13 day journey. My MA says that if all goes well, she'll be at the store around the 8th!

Now I gotta figure out how to track the ship to the West Coast.

 

Your MA should have the details for you. If you're on a WW ship you can track it yourself. If its an NYK, you're S.O.L. I don't know about K-Line.

There is a site that lists traffic thru the Panama Canal so you have that as a reference. If you're on the NYK Auto Banner, it is scheduled thru the Canal on July 27.

i called my MA, and he's told me i'm still awaiting transport... he didn't seem that interested in helping me track the car.

Checked the OL and i'm still at "awaiting transport". Hrmmm... i HOPE i make the auto banner, but i'm a little unsure at this point :-/

 

That sucks Phil. All he had to do was look at the report that get everyday, and it would at least tell him the name of the ship.

I'm waiting for my salesperson to call me back with the info for which boat our MINI is on. I think it would be fun to try and track it through the Panama Canal......if possible.
