For those of us on the Auto Banner, the schedule has changed slightly:

----------------------------------ETA ----------------ETD
Jacksonville-------------- 27.07.2006------27.07.2006
Panama Canal------------31.07.2006------01.08.2006
San Diego-----------------09.08.2006------09.08.2006
Port Hueneme------------09.08.2006------10.08.2006

Remember that the dates are European style dd/mm/yyyy

I left spaces between the columns, but it keeps squeezing together,

If the boat arrives at Port Hueneme (the port my MA said they use), I wonder how long it will take to get on a truck and drive to Salt Lake City.

I'm thinking 2-3 weeks.

sailwx.info has lost track of the Manon. I know that it docked in Halifax yesterday and headed on to NY (Per WW) but I want to see where it is dang it. There haven't been any updates to it's position on sailwx.info since late on Sunday. grrr

nbame and Red Fish, I'm jealous you're getting your cars so early! My MA says "You'll get it sometime next week; I don't know when yet." Aah! :impatient

And I'm selling my Integra tonight/tomorrow morning so I'm carless until Logan gets here. I want him _NOW_! Fortunately hubby is being wonderful about getting me to/from work for the next few days...

Philly is less than two hours from NY, so that must help. I'm hoping for Saturday and counting on Monday.

I miss living in California, but at the moment I'm happy to be in the northeast.

Loan Rates

Let's talk about loan rates again.

HPUdrew (post #155) said he found financing for 3.9%! The best I can find in our area is 6.2% for 60 months. But our credit union has "rate matching" so if we can find a better rate, maybe they will match it. We have really good credit so that's not a problem.

Any help out there from Prod Week 28 crew?

Congrats Red Fish!

Checking the WW site - the Manon has sailed from the first NY port and is en route to the 2nd where my Mini will be discharged. Well, I guess I'm kind of assuming that it will be discharged there, since it's not listed as being discharged yet. I hadn't realized before today that the Manon would be making 2 NY stops - anyone know anything about this?

Thanks for the good wishes.

GreenRacer, the Courage spent 2 days in NY, too -- the first where the Manon is now, the second further west in the harbor, in Elizabeth, NJ, I think. (Not that I was checking obsessively, or anything.)

The MINI was offloaded on day 2, but it took a few days for it to be listed as "discharged" on the WW site.

So this seems odd to me. Looking at AISLive (which, if I had more time and more 31337 skillz, I would post), Manon appears to be docked at the North East Auto Marine Terminal in Port Jersey, which is the point of exit for all Minis. Plus, looking at Courage's cruise schedule, it only shows one stop in NYC. Anyone else have any thoughts?

Loan Rates

The best I was able to find was 5.75% for 60 months. Not too bad I guess.

I was doing some math last night.

25,000 loan / 60 months

5.75% interest rate = $3825.10 total interest
6.00% interest rate = $3999.23 total interest
6.50% interest rate = $4349.20 total interest

The point is, you're only out an additional $524 when you compare 5.75% versus 6.5%. Interest rates are not as important as they are when you're buying a house. You've got to find a rate that's at least 2% lower to see a big savings.

Anyone else wanna share their interest rate? (or do you all pay cash!)

The WW site shows 2 stops in NY now, but I would have sworn that it didn't before today. It does have it listed as having already departed the 1st port in NY. In any case, I just got back from the dealership where I signed the purchase agreement and got my trade-in appraised. Not a great deal on it, but given the amount of dings/dents/scratches, I can live with what they offered. Now I just have to go to my bank on Saturday to pick up the check and I should be motoring by the end of next week. Woo-hoo!

Still no word from my MA on when I get my car...argh! I sold my Integra yesterday, so relying on "the kindness of strangers" as they say (OK, coworkers and my husband, but I couldn't resist the urge to quote Streetcar) until Logan arrives.

At least my MA assures me that contrary to my paranoid beliefs, my car made it just fine to the VDC without event or injury...

Gromit, all I can think about is your quote. I want Logan NOW! Now, now, now!

I ended up going with HC for financing after all..could get 5.95 from a local credit union, but talked HC down to 6.23 (from 6.8), and I'm only going to need financing for a few months, so figured it would be easier to deal with only one company...

Financing

I got 3.9% for 36 months.

5.75% for 60 months sounds like a very good deal.

I'm paying cash, or my company is rather. Beginning to fear the final bill! Supposedly, the Emden arrives in SC today.
