One more piece of info for the spreadsheet

Logan is now reading as "Discharged" from the Courage on 7/25--Crishchun, one more piece of info for the spreadsheet...

Got a message from my MA saying Logan is "on his way from NJ and should be here sometime soon". I don't know whether that means he's on a truck, or still at the VDC...:impatient

My MA just called, and says Gromit will be unloading about August 9th, and up to the dealership (Niello) about August 16 - 17. Of course we might already be heading to the Monterey Historics then.....

I wonder if they can expidite the dealer action? Love to take Gromit to the Historics to meet all the other Mini's!

Whaahoo! The Emden landed today and started unloading it's treasure trove at 8am! Mary should be at the VDC tomorrow!

Because it was their suggestion that I get a car under warranty and it's family owned....so, if Mom wants to retire someday, she needs to make sure I get to and from work ok. I have a really long commute. How long you ask? Let's just say that I put over 36,000 miles on Mosquito in the one year I've had him.

Well, it looks like GreenRacer (the mini) was discharged last night at 10:30 pm EDT! Woo-hoo! Now it's just a matter of getting on a truck and zooming up to Boston. miniminiminiminiminimini

Yay! Folks are getting close!

My MA just said that I'll hopefully have Logan next Saturday; he's not sure whether that includes VentureShield and Lojack, or if that's extra time. I'm so envious of the other Courage folks who are getting theirs so much sooner!

Sorry.

I really feel for the folks on the West coast.

Of course, you've also got the better motoring roads out there ...

True, true. Not to mention the Monterey Historics, soon to be home of a bajillion Mini's.

Next Saturday! Dang. My mini was on a later boat and according to my MA, I should have it either Thursday or Friday. Of course, I'm only having an iPod adapter and bonnet stripes installed at the dealership, which should take a lot less time than the VentureShield and Lojack.

You went to MoP right?

so... my ma said it should be ready this weekend, but he's off on Fridays! I a call into the service manager at the dealership two hours ago who said he'd call back and it's killing me! it's a 40 minute drive, and I also have to make that drive up there to pick up a computer from repair, but I need to take someone with me to drive the car back if my Mini's ready... come on New Country Mini call me back!!! I want to just show up there ready to take it but with my luck it won't be there or ready, and I want to call but I figure my compulsion might annoy them...

And my MA isn't even sure whether the VentureShield and Lojack will be done when it comes in next Saturday, or whether I'll have to wait even longer...wah!

But I'm very excited about tomorrow's project--turn the garage from a storage shed back into a garage so Logan has a nice, comfy, well-covered bed to sleep in at night...

At least my MA assures me that contrary to my paranoid beliefs, my car made it just fine to the VDC without event or injury...

Gromit, all I can think about is your quote. I want Logan NOW! Now, now, now!
How easy was it to sell your Integra? I've got a 1990, high mileage but great mechanical condition. Gonna try Car Max to see what they will give me.

BTW, for those on the NYC AUTO BANNER, passage through the Panama Canal is now scheduled for July 31. Better late than never I guess.

Unbelievably easy. I posted to Craigslist at 9:15, got an email at 9:17, a phone call at 9:20, and two more emails before midnight. Had 3 people lined up to see them, two of whom wanted to come over right away with cash.

By a strange twist of fate, just before the first person was due to come over, a close friend called and asked if I had sold it yet. He's moving to the UK at the end of the year, his car died, and it would cost 3X as much to fix it as it would cost to buy my car. So I ended up selling to him, but the fact that two folks were coming over the day after I posted _with cash_ leads me to believe it would've been sold that day anyway.

I expected it to take a while, but it took less than 24 hours. Try Craigslist! It's even free to post.

Huh. I went through HC as well and while I haven't really had a bad experience, I also sorta wish that I'd gone to MoP. Who's you MA?

I'm jealous that you have a garage to store your mini - or more to the point, a garage that you're willing to use to store your mini. The ceiling of my garage is falling apart. A friend of mine parked her car in my garage for a few weeks (she was in Brazil and was not going to pay for 3 weeks parking at Logan) and by the time she got back it had a lot of plaster dust on it from the ceiling. The dust wouldn't bother me that much, but every time it rains I half expect the ceiling to cave in. Needless to say, my mini will never be in there if I can help it.

I went with Robby. I wouldn't say I've had a bad experience, just a frustrating one. Lots of promises that he'll call to update me when the status changes, but only one actual call (the day the Courage docked). A couple of times I had to badger Robby, Kerry, and the finance guy for days before I got a call back from anyone about simple things, like what their finance rate was, or when I have to do the paperwork. Plus, there were a few times where two people gave me very different info.

Case in point: I just called Kerry, who says my MINI will get there Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday and should be ready for pickup sometime Wednesday through Friday. So, I _think_ that's good news...but it's not what Robby told me this AM. Not sure what to think, but I'll hope for Wednesday!

Maybe I'm just being demanding, but a) I want my MINI! And I don't mind waiting as long as I know what to expect. Well, OK, maybe I _mind_ waiting , but I'll do it and keep quiet about it if I know what to expect; and b) It really shouldn't take over a week to get an answer about what their finance rate is.

Who's your MA? How does your experience compare? Why do you sorta wish you'd gone with MoP?

As for why I wish I'd gone with MoP, it's mostly due to how much I've heard people rave about them over on mini2. I've had almost no contact with Ian. He's only called me once with any sort of status on my mini. And since I've been so obsessive about tracking, I knew more than he did. On the plus side, he never promised to call with updates, rather he said that I could call him whenever I wanted with whatever questions I had.

In any case, so long as I have my mini by the end of next week, I'll be happy. Maybe both of ours will be on the same truck!

Guys, this is Dash. Dash, these are the guys. Say hi. They all helped me get through the process of waiting for you.

Just got home in time because it's pouring like crazy!

Well, onto the pics I promised.

I don't want to overload this thread so check out more pics.

So, they knocked off $475 of MSRP price (I did nothing at all). AND they threw in the iPod adapter installed, illuminated S door sills, S front/rear floormats, and wheel locks. NO CHARGE. Those extras add up to almost $700.. which equals a nice savings of close to $1,200!

Dash had 14 miles when I picked him up. The drive home was sooo much fun. The H/K stereo is just plain awesome! I still have to figure out all the controls. Why won't my iPod display the ID tags?

I will read the pile of reading materials that came with it. I love this car!

Congratulations crishchun! (or should I say "Dash").

Great looking car! (it's the color combo I wanted, but the wife wanted HB/W) You gonna get black wheels for it some day?

Spoke with my MA today and I have some new info for the database:

Mary was discharged from the dock yesterday morning and arrived at the VDC that afternoon (7/27). She'll be moved to the warehouse tomorrow...whatever that means. She'll be there 2-3 days getting her JCW brakes and aero kit put on. My MA estimates she'll be here at the dealership around the 4th or 5th (3 days on a truck). Then, another week or so for my add-ons at the dealership.
