Blackhat, where are you finding the boating schedules and other schedules?
Been doing so much reading on various forums and such that I'm not sure I can tell you exactly where but the two best resources I have are in the First Gear forums here, sticky post at the top about Inside the Port H. VDC:

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=21112

Don't read that link unless you like to mildly scared about body damage, wait times, etc... granted it's the west coast VDC and they seem to be a lot busier than our east coast VDC's.

And on mini2 they have a nice FAQ about what to expect:

http://www.mini2.com/forum/faq.php?f...q_tracking_usa

Though I should warn you that the link to the WW shipping tracking is off. Here's a fresher link on that:

http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTrac...trackType=Auto

That will track your car by VIN if you have it and they are carrying it. If you go to the below link it's the main page and you can track by date and location, SouthHampton to your VDC:

http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppSche...countryList.do

To get your VIN you can go to the owner's lounge and bring up your tracking page which naturally won't show anything but if you view the source you'll see your VIN if it exists yet (and by now all of ours should) and review you order details (though it won't show in the order details window).

Now somewhere in all that mess or another link I forgot is the little factoid that WW is not handling 100% of MINI's auto cargo. So if you're MINI is scheduled for a cruise and you're not on that link it's a safe bet that you're on the other shipping company's boat. I think, however, that's only for NY but that's a possibly fabricated factoid from a far too tired brain that hasn't had nearly enough caffeine yet.

Also on this board somewhere, Where is My Mini thread I think you could potentially track the truck that is carrying your mini but I haven't gone that far yet.

I just called the ASKMINI line through the automated system, and I found out my car is in production with an estimated completion date of June 9th!! And finally the webpage doesn't say on order anymore!! Can't wait til the car hits Bmore. I also checked the website and got my VIN. Ran it in carfax and it now exists. Not too bad! Here's hoping for the June 10th boat!!!!!

Looks like ours should be done the same day. So hopefully they will be able to ride the boat over together so they can have a friend on board.

I got my VIN as well, so its just one more step that shows this is really happening and I'm not in some MINI-induced dream.

That's good, they won't get lonely and can keep each other company

Thanks Bluminboy,

We thought about the aero kit but were pushing the budget already Maybe later.

Keene is a great town. Lots going on, lots of diversity and everone seems to get along well. We have some great pubs also I actually live about 15 mins out of Keene in the hills, rocks, streams and river area of Gilsum. Been here about two years now and love it. Originally from Columbus OH which is not so bad but would not even think about leaving the SW NH area. I am most likely going to garage our Mini though during the big snows. I heard rumor of a 4wd though. That would be cool.

Spoke with a MINI rep today on the ASK MINI hotline. My MINI should be about in the paint process now. I wish i could just watch my MINI being built. That would be cool.

I am trying restrain myself and call 1-866-ASK- MINI and speak to a representative only once every few days. (I check the website at least a couple of times a day--just for reinforcement.) Last week the guy I spoke with at ASK MINI was very informative and gave me all kinds of details. For example, they should have started assembling my MINI a couple of days ago and it might even be in the paint shop right now.

But yesterday I called and the rep was very unhelpful. She had less info than the website!

I think I will have to call them again today or call my MA because I CAN'T WAIT AND NEED IMMEDIATE GRATIFICATION!

Sorry about that. The wait is getting to me.

I think most of te people at ASK-MINI are helpful and because they deal with addicts day-in and day-out. In fact they could probably get paid more at a crisis hotline.

Sigh. Just called ASK-MINI and there has been no update. All they know is that the car is slated for completion on June 5th.

Well, but in the meantime, I just received my first mod: Multivex side mirrors for my MCS convertible-to-be.

There are many threads in the forums that discuss the poor visiblity in the rear view mirror because of the roll bars and issues with view mirror blind spots. I noted the same thing when I test drove it. I plan on putting the mirrors on at the dealer before I drive away for the first time!

Anyone else go out and buy toys/things while waiting for your mini?

It is in the accessories booklet. Part Number is 51110141384. $43.50 regular price. I ordered from Classic and got 25% off. Sale ended today. IMHO it is much better looking than stock.

I ordered a bunch of stuff from Classic but he didn't take my CC number for it yet. Hope I still get the 25% off. I ordered:

Magnetic stone guards
Auto-dimming rear view mirror (no garage door opener)
Black rubber boot protector
bumper protector
Euro tray

And I'm placing my order for angel eyes tomorrow I think.

Also have a GPS set up inbound, Palm T|X with Palm GPS navigator accessory.

Wheeeee. I want my car. Now.

Think I've made the decision to cancel the dealer installed auxillary jack and take the $100 savings and apply it toward the $700 Venture Tape clearbra the dealer is offering. Still seems hideously expensive but the thought of rock chips on my first brand new car is literally keeping me up at nights.

I think the clearbra is well worth it. I currently have it on my truck and on my bike. I also had it on my last car as well.

As soon as I get my MINI, i'm takin it straight to get the clearbra.

'The Voice' has been telling me June 3rd for the last week or so for my production date. Just because I was feeling... umm.... the need for positive reinforcement I called today and 'The Voice' took pity upon me and announced my car is in the paint shop and expected completion date is June 1st.

Would it be appropriate at this time to shout out loud and do a little victory dance even if I know my car still won't ship out before the 10th?

Blackhat, if I got news like that I'd be doing a great big victory dance all day long! I called today hoping I'd been pushed up also, but just got a 'in the body shop'. While it's really exciting to hear Scootr is rolling down the line I was sure hoping for better news.

Anybody out there in week 23 picking up at the Denver dealership? It's going to be so hard to hear about the east-coasters getting their babies weeks before us (you lucky dogs), thought I'd try to find someone to commiserate with during our extra long boat ride.

Congrats again Blackhat!

Denver is only 1700 miles from Baltimore, MD. This is where I-70 starts. It's funny too as soon as you get on I-70 there is a sign that says Denver 1700 miles. Cuz i know that 70 goes straight through Denver. So cooperminis, it looks like your MINI will be takin a trip down I-70 to meet you.

I only wish it would be taking I-70 straight through! Sure seems like that'd be quicker than that long boat ride!
