Courage half way to US

To those Mini's on Courage,

http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/shi...l?call=WDC6907

shows that our ship has made it half way across the Atlantic. Minitenango, get off the rail before you fall in!

Sweet! Sweet! Up until now the info on that site had not updated since May 30th.

At times, the transport and shipping schedules seem as mysterious as crop circles. Maybe the Sailwx inof only kicks in when it's halfway across. I sort of noticed that on its earlier posting. There were little red dots from mid-way to the US but none all the way to UK. Regardless, I'm sleeping less knowing that the little guy is getting closer.

a little. Any word on your ship? And how do they get it from the coast to Indy. Train? Hope all goes smoothly and quickly for you.

PS - My mini has the same DOB, perhaps they know each other from the factory.

Dang this is nerve wracking....if mine has been at port since last week, bumped from the Courage, why is it not going to make the Manon? The shipping site says it's on the Liberty, leaving a day later than the Manon. Wacko!

I'm happy for my factory mates sailing the Courage...safe journey the rest of the way

Ok, since I'm new to the world of having a car like this that actually matters, can you tell me more about the clear bra? I've seen a little info on here about it and ive wondered if its something i should consider. If I get it in the beginning, can I still add bonnet stripes later on if I want?

I figure since our MINIs share a birthday I can trust your advice, lol.

The voice still tells me I am waiting to be released to the carrier. :(

From Charleston, my MINI will go by train to Indianapolis. The dealership is only a few miles from my house.

to answer your last question, the bonnet stripes can't go on top... well they can, but they won't look right. But you would want the film on top of the stripes.

The clear bra is a 8mm thick polyurethane film that goes on the car like window tint. There is also light protection, which is usually in the form of 20mm film. The clear bra also has a warranty if any paint that is covered by the film gets damaged somehow they will pay to fix it. Same with the lights, if a rocks hits one of the lights and they break, they will pay to replace it.

A good website to check is www.proformauto.com
This is the guy that is local here in MD. I know he does go around in the tri-state area. But he is also well connected.

Basic kits include hood, front fenders, front bumper, mirrors if they have paint on them, door edges.

You can get extras like inside the door handles, along the edge of the boot lid where you grab it to close it, areas behind the wheels. Wherever you want.

The nice thing about the clear bra, 1 to 2 and even more years down the road, you won't have road rash on your front end from all that motoring you're gonna be doing. Your MINI will still look like new.

You treat the film just like paint. You wash it and wax it just like you do the rest of your car.

I highly recommend it!!

Today, Greg from ASK-MINI gave me exciting news. News that I have been longing to hear: my MINI finally left Oxford yesterday and is en route to Southampton!!!

Over the past 10 days since her birth, my MINI has made so many friends in glorious Oxford England....the many exciting parties, the numerous happy hours at the local pubs, the late night rendezvous...but they are now finally coming to an end.

Needless to say, her many friends in Oxford are sad to see her go...many a tear was shed, many hugs were shared, and oh so many addresses were exchanged. Despite the sadness that goodbyes inevitably bring, her spirits are far from down. Too long has she tarried at Oxford. She is, afterall, looking forward to the thought of a leisurely cruise and rejoining her MINI brothers and sisters on board a ship to Charleston...no doubt there will be games of shuffleboard, exotic drinks with little parasols sticking out from the frosted glasses, and lovely sunsets to enjoy from the deck. But most of all, she is eager to arrive at her final destination and meet with her new family.

The time till we meet will pass oh too slowly...but it will pass. And we have so many wonderful times to look forward to.

Annewhitane, no doubt your MINI has had a wonderful time with her friends in Oxford, but there are new friends to be made and more good times to share in beautiful Southampton at the port. Scootr, for one, has been anxiously awaiting your arrival, bidding all of his other birth-mates fond farewells as they set off on their journeys across the sea. He'll welcome your MINI and together they'll celebrate their last days on British ground before they themselves leave their homeland behind and set sail to meet their new families in the US.

And believe me, none of this can happen SOON ENOUGH! I'm becoming despondent here, waiting over 2 weeks now for a ship - I'm getting worried there may be something wrong... All sources continue to show awaiting transport.

Well at least my PW will have a birthmate (PW no less!) to enjoy times at the Southampton dock. She and Scootr are not doubt fast friends by now.

Will you be going to Charleston or to Port Hueneme? I hope to be sailing next friday on the Integrity bound for Charleston. There is a ship leaving tomorrow for Port Hueneme. Do you think you will be on it?

Anyone else still waiting for an outbound ship?

still chillin' in Southampton

I am sadly waiting to board a ship. I was awaiting transport on June 6 and have been chilling.....sitting there for the past 12 days

Ultimately heading to Port Hueneme (by the way how do you know that a ship is heading there tomorrow?) Good news is that the Port is just a few miles from my dealer and ultimately, my garage. So no long delays once it's here but kind of a bummer that it was built so quickly after I ordered and then nuthin' for nearly 2 weeks since. Oh well......

Still will be thrilled to see and drive that little puppy

I'm headed for Port Hueneme, so it'll be a long voyage... and I'm really hoping to get on that ship tomorrow! I had already been booked on (then booted from) a WW ship so I'm thinking maybe Scootr's been waiting for the next WW ship (and missing 3 NYK ships along the way)

sam.ben, I feel your pain - I've been sitting at the dock since 6/3! Then once here Scootr needs to get all the way back to Denver. I'll schedule my vacation as soon as I have an arrival date to travel from AZ to CO for our first meeting and a wonderfully loooong drive home from the dealer!

The ship scheduled for tomorrow is one of the WW line ships, they have a great site - www.2wglobal.com. Go to Customer Care, then Schedules. You can also go to Auto tracking and put in your VIN # to see if your baby has been booked on the ship. It's on it's way from one port to another today, so sometime later tonight or early tomorrow we should be able to see if we've been booked... would love to see you on board!

Finally bound for the US

Unbelievable!

I just checked the WW site, entered my VIN number, and expected to see the same old thing: no tracking information. But this time, it indicates that my MINI was loaded on the Liberty, which left yesterday! Hurray!! The Liberty was supposed to have left last Friday, but must have left a couple days late. I am SO EXCITED!!!

Anyone else on the Liberty?
