I was just in towson mini today and i was looking at my car. They took all the plastic out of the inside of it. It even has my name on it now.

 

Okay. My Penelope supposedly left Southampton sometime between 6/3 and 6/6. That could only mean that she was on either the NYK Lyra Leader or the WW Toronto, but my VIN has never shown up on the WW site, so I have kind of assumed that she had to be on the Lyra Leader. The Lyra Leader hit Port Hueneme last weekend . . . but there is no sign of my MINI anywhere. It's apparently not at the VDC (at least according to my MA), the trucking company doesn't have it (yes, I called them), and the WW Toronto was unloaded today but my VIN still doesn't register in their system.

WHERE IS PENELOPE?????

I am starting to feel a bit frantic and decidedly irritable about this. I just want to know where she is. I thought she would be on a truck making her way to SLC by now, and she seems to be - nowhere! AAARRRGGGHHH HHHH That was me beating my head against the wall. Now I think I'm going to go cry into my Cosmopolitan.

 

I emailed my MA the other day and he said he thought mine PW/B MCS would be arriving the 2nd week of July!! It is coming into California. I don't know if there are any other west coasters waiting, but I think our boat is arriving VERY soon!! Wahooo!

We can commiserate together since I'm still in limbo. Last I heard my MINI was to be in US port on the 29th. Tho my MA did not know which ship, and he has not contacted me as of yet. And he hasn't returned my emails, sure hope he's not of on a 5 day weekend!!!!!!!!!
So, who knows where my baby is! :impatient

 

Oh no! Gypsy is missing as well??? Where are our poor lost babies? They're probably scared and confused, alone in a foreign land, and unable to find their mommies.

Thanks...but, nope, I'm an east coaster (as far as where it lands). Just got an email from my MA & now he says it's to be in port 7/2 ? Sunday??? I can't find any ships coming in then. I'm sure my poor baby has been so scared & lost. It was completed & at Southampton since 6/9!!!!!! I sure hope it's on a boat somewhere!

 

I dont' think mine is on the Fontana either, as it supposedly shipped clear back on 6/3. Who knows, though? Maybe MINI's system is goofed up. Sigh.

Jayne - my dealer kept saying the mine was scheduled to come in 7/1, and there are no ships on 7/1 either. I don't know why the tracking is so weird.

 

Nope, when I asked my MA he said he didn't have that info.

 

So I have a question. I thought about starting a new thread with this one, and might, but figured I'd start with our week 23 family first.

What has been your impression with your MA? I've heard so many good things about people's MAs, I almost feel jipped. Mine has never proactively contacted me, unless I call/email her first. I have asked about the dealer programmable options and was basically told, yes there are some just let me know which ones you want. I've asked twice for a list. I've asked twice for an estimated delivery day and keep getting told first week of July. Well, here is July and I still know nothing. I actually had to email her manager in the beginning to find out if my MINI was ever even ordered. He is the one who gave me my production number, VIN, and production week. Two days later she happened to email me with that info.

I know people are people and some employees are better than others, but I'm just afraid that due to the lack of thoroughness from my MA, I'm going to be missing out on something.

Just frustrated I guess...

 

my MA has been great so far. He's been calling me lettin me know the status of my MINI as it sits in his lot. He's told me a delivery date for thur or fri of this week. If I email him, he will get back to me the same day if not the next.

 

Eh....mine's ok. I guess nothing spectacular, but not bad either. He does get back with me in pretty good time. Just not much for tons of info! Like where in the heck is my Gypsy!

 

Yes, I'm with Jayne. He gets back to me just fine, he just doesn't have much info. Not sure why, but some dealerships seem to have much better tracking info than others.

 

I sure hope that you guys find out where your MINI's are. My guess by either Monday or Wednesday you should find out something about your MINI's.

I would love to work at a MINI dealership. Help people with their dreams. Too bad my dealer is 70 miles away.

Well good to see I'm not alone in this MA thing. For those of you that have taken delivery or will be soon, did you go over the dealer programmable options ahead of time? Is this something I should be concerned about or is it quick enough that they take care of it on the spot during delivery? Again, I just don't want to miss something because of poor planning on her part.

 

Mine hasn't said a thing about it. I didn't even know about the options until I read about it here!

 

K..this is weird...I've been checking the owners lounge a few times a day to make sure it still says enroute (yup, all MINI owners are ****)...WELL I just checked again today & it says at VDC???? What the hay?
My MA originally said it would be at port the 29th...Then he said it would be at port 7/2.....So I either was on the EMDEN docked 6/29 or the Liberty docked yesterday!!!!!! If it was yesterday I doubt OL would be updated so quick. Please let it be on the way to Classic!!!!!!!!! Please..please..please.

Oh Jayne, that is so exciting!! I'll bet it was on the earlier ship cuz it seems like once it says it's at the VDC it ends up at your dealership pretty quick. Man, I wish my status would change.

Since I need to pick up on a Saturday, (My dealer is almost 5 hours away) I will have it for sure on July 15....and if the planets align, possibly, just possibly on July 8.
