Coming home soon.
Just signed up last night. I don't currently own a mini but am in the market and will be visiting the dealer when I get back to the US from Germany. I do have a friend who is a member with her Cooper and another friend of mine owns a classic Mini so I've had the oppurtunity to turn a few wrenches and drive these cars, I have to say I'm hooked now.

Welcome! What model are you in the market for and where will you be buying new or used. If new where will you by buying? Oh, and where are you in Germany. I lived over there for 3 years...loved it. Wish I would have had a Mini to take down the Autobahn!

I currently live in the Mannheim are. The only MINI dealer near my home is Mini of St. Louis and I want to buy a new car but unfortunately will have to buy one that a dealer already has in stock. The dealer seemed willing to help me by having a car at another dealer with the features I want shipped to them. I'm looking for a MCS with the Sport package, cold weather package, premium package, chrono package, and LSD, although it looks like finding a car with the LSD will be a problem.

Yes, they are probably pretty close to winding down 2006 production and cutting over to the 07 models pretty soon I would think. I'd rather have the supercharged model then the new turbos. Sounds like you are going for a nice package. It seems like dealers east of Rockies have much more to choose from "in stock" than out west. If you can't get the LSD I suppose you can always have one installed aftermarket later on.

Well, I'm home and just picked up my car from MINI of St. Louis. It has everything I wanted except the LSD and have had a blast getting to know the car. I'll post a link to another profile where I have the pictures rather than host them on multiple sites.
